Overall, I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and drinks. It's definitely a tapas style with good drinks and good for a mature palate. My daughter (is 7 years old and picky) didn't like any of the food that we got (reason for missing 1 star as there really isn't much for younger kids, which is probably their preference as it's probably catered to the young adults). Drinks were delicious, esp. the watermelon one. Their main wing flavours were seasoned well. I was surprised by the special Dill Pickle wing flavour, it was my favourite out of the three flavours. The bowl of cabbage curbed my craving for thinly sliced cabbages and for the cost of $4 is decent. The sashimi weren't fishy. I enjoyed the mushroom cream udon, the flavour just needs alittle more seasoning, but the udon was a good chewy texture. Plenty of space within the A/C restaurant or the patio was super nice/cozy feeling. I'd come back but maybe with friends or date night.

To my palate's delight?, tastes as good as it looks. We tried a couple of things: started with the Furikake Fries and some drinks (including a tasty matcha gin & tonic). Then tried: Pressed Salmon Sushi, Yaki Udon, Crispy Sushi Pizza and Kamo Rosu (Duck Tataki). Just so you know, they have vegan and gluten free options. Their customer service was commendable (special shout out to Kristina) from arrival down to the last bite. My verdict? Recommend✔️ Give them a try I think you'll like it. See you soon Shōjō Izakaya✌?

Delicious food and drinks at this Izakaya! Take advantage of the happy hour specials; lots of tasty bites and unfortunately the wings were sold out when we arrived. The food was all very flavorful and beautifully presented small plates. The fries were crispy and tasty and the sashimi was fresh and has such a good mouth-feel. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Sushi pizza was a fun concept and tasty but a bit small for what I would have ideally liked. The hojicha panacotta was a delicious and light way to finish off the meal.

First time here. After hearing about this from a few people, finally decided to give this place a try. Was kinda expecting the same kind of experience as Dorinku Osaka/Tokyo but I was quite underwhelmed by the food flavour. Salmon sashimi cuts were one of the thinnest cuts that I have ever had. The torched pressed sushi was quite overloaded with sauce and so the salmon flavour was kind of diminished. And $18 for such small amount is quite high when compared to how much you’d get at Dorinku. My favourite was the deep fried chicken. However, that kind of defeats the purpose as the sushi and sashimi should be the defining factor for the restaurant. Lastly the price was also kinda excessive as well. For 125 dollars that I spent for a party of 2, I expected much more.

Went for happy hour and was not disappointed! Had excellent customer service. Loved the modern lowkey atmosphere. Great for a casual meet up with friends. And- there is a lovely patio option! Food was exactly what you’d expect, simple dishes, smaller portions, great for sharing. Overall, I give this place my gold star of approval!

The food here was delicious, oishii AF. The sushi tasted fresh, with perfectly cooked rice. We also ordered sushi pizza, the patatas bravas, halloumi, karage, and both udon dishes, and then the panna cotta for desert. All were nothing short of excellent. Service was quick and friendly, decor and atmosphere very nice. We'll be back. If you're reading this, stop your search of where you want to eat right now, this is it.

A quaint trendy place literally under the brewery district. Service is great with a lively atmosphere. The duck was surprisingly the favorite of the night. Smokey flavour on the outside with soft tender centre. Would highly reccomend! Mushroom udon was also a great highlight. Nice hit of spiced seasoning which was tied together well with the cream sauce. Many of the Dishes are sharable for up to four people. Would not reccomend ordering sushi here but the izakaya is decent!

Great friendly Izakaya experience with delicious varied plates and cocktails. Whether alone or with a group, it's a nice setting nestled in a lower level. Fantastic patio.
