I transferred into SGMT from a different group around the 5-month mark of my pregnancy and cannot express how glad I was with the decision to go with my gut. Odaemin & Jennifer were my caregivers and I could not have picked a better two for myself. Never did I feel pressured to do or not do anything I wasn't comfortable with. Odaemin has always been very knowledgeable and confident in addressing my questions & concerns. She also gave us direction and tips at home visits after birth which supported our success in breastfeeding, baby's early bowel movements and pain management for myself during that difficult initial period of time. Jennifer was on-call when I went into labour and while all did not go exactly as planned with our "birth plan" she always gave us the best support that we could have asked for as first-timers. Her instincts to transfer from TBC to Sunnybrook, then to go from planned vaginal birth to cesarean were all spot on in hind sight and we are happy we trusted and followed her advice each time. Her solid relationship and confidence in the Sunnybrook staff (who BTW were fantastic) made the whole ordeal much less scary and stressful. The receptionists and other staff at SGMT and TBC were all lovely to deal with over the last several months and so helpful. There isn't enough gratitude for these teams of superstars. XOXO

My main midwife were Breacia and Jill who were beyond exceptional. Took care of all my concerns with the highest level of attention. As a first time mom I was very nervous but when I met this team they made me feel at peace. During my birth we also had midwives Rocio and Hadar present who were very helpful. I never had a moment where I wasn't with a midwife during labour. Super helpful, encouraging and respectful. If it wasn't for Hadar I would have never learned to nurse my baby. I am so thankful for her and think about it everyday. The receptionist to the midwives everyone here is just amazing. Would totally recommend to anyone! Thank you seventhgen!

Terrific experience. Kendra and the team was amazing before, during, and after the birth. Highly recommend considering this option and would do it again if the time comes.

I was in the middle of moving and was lucky that they accepted me as a client, after the initial meeting with Kim (she's amazing), which was about 45mins where I voiced my concerns from my first midwifery experience, she made sure everything was addressed. I delivered about maybe only 2 sessions with her. My concerns were to make sure the entire placenta comes out and to have more frequent contact during contraction onset. She and her wonderful team (Jill and student Emily) addressed those concerns and more. All three of them stayed with me and were so compassionate and caring. They motivated me and guided me. I could not have asked for a better team. The experience with Kim and my first midwifery was night and day. Thank you so much 7 generations!

I came to SGMT because I knew they have privileges at Sunnybrook hospital. I knew I wanted a hospital birth but I also wanted midwives for the postpartum after care. I was so relieved to receive a call back, as I was worried that I would not after being upfront on my application about wanting a hospital birth. My period of care with SGMT was between July 2021 to March 2022. My primary midwives were Jennifer and Rocio, along with a student of midwifery, Tamara. I also had one appointment with Kendra as a back-up, and one appointment with Claire, the hospitalist midwife. Jennifer was who I had my first appointment with, we connected immediately over our love of knitting, and our senses of humour. After we initially discussed my birth wish, hopes and fears, Jenn was 100% on the same page with me, and that immediately helped me feel understood and like I was in good hands for the best care. This continued throughout my pregnancy. I always felt like my wishes were respected while being realistic about possible risk factors in my case. Rocio was the second midwife I met with, who was another warm spirited person that I felt comfortable with immediately. Rocio is very observant and was quite thorough when explaining answers to many of our questions. Tamara became involved after a few appointments, and having a student of midwifery with the team was something I really appreciated. I felt like I was learning too when there would be a teaching moment, and it reinforced my confidence in the abilities and skills of my care team. Tamara is kind, professional, and always took care in double checking her findings for accuracy. Claire I met with at Sunnybrook hospital to discuss and prepare for a transfer of care. Claire was wonderful about explaining all the details for what to expect with a scheduled delivery and it helped me feel relieved about the change in my birth plan. It was also comforting to know that there was an SGMT midwife based out of the hospital should there have been a situation where I arrived at the hospital before my midwife care team. Although my birth wish evolved into a revised plan, I felt that my care team did their jobs well. Everything went according to plan, there were no complications or emergencies with the delivery, and for that I am grateful. After the first 48hrs with our newborn, we experienced some concerns. Both Jenn and Rocio were super supportive (and tolerant) of my anxiety (and panic) during the first week, so an extra home visit was arranged with Kendra. Kendra was really good at assessing the situation without having ever been involved with our care. Kendra recognized that our feeding plan required temporary modification and wrote out detailed notes for a revised feeding plan. This was so helpful and very appreciated because we were so sleep deprived and stressed out about the most important task of feeding our baby. During another one of our aftercare appointments, Rocio noticed a possible something worth looking into, and referred us to a lactation clinic. Although the lactation clinic experience at first made me feel more stressed out about the process of feeding, they did confirm that what Rocio suspected was right and they provided us with recommendations that made the biggest difference with the success of our feeding goals. I felt very sad when we graduated and were discharged from SGMT as I absolutely loved my entire experience. I can not recommend this clinic enough. Every interaction I had with each staff member was great. The clinic space and examination rooms were always clean and organized, and I absolutely loved my care team. I will always and forever hold SGMT close to my heart <3

Our experience could not have been more pleasant. The entire team, from the midwives to the secretaries was very professional yet warm. Everyone there is trying to help you in a genuine way. I would definitely recommend this center for anyone that wants to be treated like a Queen. Being able to speak on my language with Rocio during the birth was a plus. My lead midwife was Sarah and she really nailed it on every visit. My son was born at Sunnybrook Hospital, and the facilities were incredible. Also with a wonderful staff. I wish I could give them a 10 โญ๏ธ

The midwife I had there ghosted me for 6 months when I asked for an analgesic gas for delivery. She never gave me a yes or no about that request. She was most unhelpful during the delivery and was either dismissive or authoritarian in her directions. She gave me no education about pushing or how the delivery goes during the pregnancy and of course non during the delivery. If you become a high-risk patient, don't bother with sharing care with midwives and doctors, drop the midwives altogether, otherwise you'll have to cater to both doctors and midwives demands. As an example, after a difficult birth, my midwife refused to do a home call, which was available and possible, and demanded that we come to the office, which meant a 2h trip for us with a newborn who hated the car and cried all the way and back, all of this for weighting the baby and ask me how I was. No empathy, their agenda comes first, even if you're postpartum, bleeding and exhausted. She was lucky I was inexperienced, and they played on this, because I'd never agree to coming in or to their general behaviour again. I was with Brescia and will never set foot again in this midwives centre. Suzan, the receptionist, had to be charmed or coaxed to be polite with me. Note that I am not a WASP, which I sense may have been a potential cause for the way I was treated there.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I was referred to SGMT through my family doctor when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. From start to finish myself and my family were welcomed with love, respect and admiration. My midwife was Natalie, who always made me feel comfortable and did a BOMB A*S job in the delivery room!! After my baby was born, Natalie committed to thorough home visits and made sure that we were doing well. She is absolutely phenomenal! Susan, the receptionist is one of the sweetest human beings you would ever come across in your lifetime. My daughter is now a healthy, smart and intellectual 5 year old and I couldn't thank SGMT enough for the outstanding care that we received. Sending much love, from Kelsey & Trinity!!!
