Lined up from 7 am-2:30 pm. Had to switch lines at some point because nobody mentioned one line was for urgent passport services and the other was for non-urgent. Got to the front and was told the passport office part was not accepting walk ins until end of the month, and service Canada doesn't do express pick up. Nowhere online does it say the passport office does not accept walk ins, and no, you can't make an appointment either. Basically, come line up again at the end of the month and pay for express pick up even though it wasn't urgent to begin with, but now it is. If you plan on travelling in about a month, well you shoulda thought about that 5 years ago

I messed up. Forgot to check expiry date on my passport during COVID. I booked a vacation not really thinking. I needed an emergency renewal before my flight. I made an appointment online, and they made an appointment for me, then found I'm coming from Chilliwack, so they pawned me off on the Surrey location. Apparently this has been happening a lot. The person just said, "OK, Surrey is closer for you, I left them a message, they should get back to you this week, bye." What?! I had an appointment, I don't care about driving an extra 20 minutes! She hung up. I suppose this is the reason the person's review before me, said there wasn't even a line up. Thankfully the guy from Surrey was there to save the day, but wasn't overly happy that the Richmond Office Keeps sending everyone to him since this "Simplified Renewal Application" has been a thing.

Got here at 7am for a walk in passport, was already 10 people in line. Was in and out by 10am. Really depends on the day (I went Tuesday Dec 13th 2021). The day before I arrived at 9am and the line barely moved for an hour and a half. Would suggest printing out the passport papers, filling them out, passport photos, and birth certificate in chase they need it. The security was considerate with the cold, trying to keep the line moving. Summer assisted me with my passport renewal - helpful and kind individual. Overall way better experience than the Surrey location and Vancouver location wait times.

Very organized and extremely polite staff. I’m sure thousands of people are having issues with massive delays in receiving their passports but if you are within 3 days of travel come here. Bring extra documents/photos etc. There will still be a VERY long queue but it is much better than the other experiences I’ve had at other passport offices. I was experiencing 7 week delay from my initial application and calling service Canada and being on hold for Average 2 hrs was pointless. As well as waiting in line at Surrey centre was incredibly pointless (high chance a walk in will not get processed unless you are one of the first 10 people waiting in line). This centre explained, was patient and was sympathetic with all customers during my visit. Security here as well was very polite and understood the service Canada circumstances that allowed a lot of people waiting in line to circumvent to them and answer questions.

Arrive well on time to even consider to be taken in. We arrived at 12 am and we had about 20 people in-front of us. By the time it was 6 am the line was wrapping along the side. The rules have changed to anyone travelling in the next 25 days are let in through the walk in service and it is all one line. By the time doors opened we were let in within about an hr, however about 10 people in-front of us were turned down due to the fact they did not have proof of travel in the next 25 days, they did not print out the proof of travel, and they were travelling later in the year. We got upstairs around 10:00 and only about 2-3 people who were behind us were in by the time we wrapped up. We finished up around 12:30, however no one new was in. There were only a few workers and each person was about 15-20 minutes to deal with. Overall, the staff was very kind and understood many people had been waiting for a while. There are no appointments and just walk in now. When leaving the line was still wrapped around the building and there was no chance any of those people were getting in. Downside to this is staff does not inform people who have been waiting for so long that they probably won’t get in. Goodluck!

After seeing the long lineups for passports on the news, I went to this office instead of Surrey/Vancouver with hopes that it wouldn't be as busy. I arrived at 4:30 am to be safe, with food, water, umbrella, toque and a camp chair. There were already a dozen people lined up when I arrived. The first person in line reported that she showed up at 11pm the night before! Doors opened at 8:30 am and they organized people into 3 lines: 1) People with reservations (they said they will no longer be offering reservations after may long weekend) 2) People with proof of travel within the next 2 days (for urgent applications) 3) Standard passport applications with ETA of 5 weeks or longer. This line was immediately directed to a separate office upstairs. People that were not traveling within 2 days (urgent) but traveling within 5 weeks, were told they could wait outside and if they worked through all of the queue of appointments and urgents that they could be seen that afternoon to get an express delivery within 1-2 weeks, but there was no guarantee they would be seen. Many people decided to leave and return when they were traveling within 1-2 days. Good luck everyone!

The best passport office I’ve been to so far, way better than the Surrey and Vancouver location. Came in for a passport renewal (walk-in) around 2pm. The security was very nice and allowed people to wait in doors. Minimal wait time (~10min). The officers were friendly and helpful, she explained everything clearly and got the paper work done in ~30min. Definitely my best experience with service Canada.

Went for passport renewal and didn’t have an appointment (as I couldn’t get one soon enough). I expected to wait long waiting times, but when I arrived at 2pm on Wednesday for walk in there was no one in line! (for both pre-screening and the actual thing) The people there was really nice.
