Came in for a pre-scheduled appointment for a mortgage renewal. Was told that the person meeting me took the day off. Would have been nice if Scotia provided a heads-up as I took time off of work to do this. Sometimes this is how you lose business.

One star, as I like that there is never line up. But they totally ignore you. If you want contact them and have some "specialist" that you trying to reach - watch out - it may not work there anymore even if e-mail is working and they are on their answering machine! It happened to me twice!! Now I was waiting for a phone call appointment from them and guess what... nobody called me and they are closed now. Very disappointed. I had Scotiabank also in Ontario - totally different service, I miss it.

This branch doesn’t even deserve a single star. My husband and I were β€œshopping” for mortgage rates for our mortgage renewal. I have a Scotiabank account so this is where we first went to. First two meetings with Mr. Mohammad Rai for the requirements went well. He told us that it would only take about 4 business days for the application to process. More than a week had passed and we never heard anything from him so we tried to call his extension # which he never picked up and only an answering machine that has a different name would our call go to. I left him messages and emails, asking how he was, thought maybe he got sick but ofcourse, no answer. After another week, my husband went to the branch and Mr. Rai was there but apparently busy and passed a message thru his coworker, saying he would give us a call instead -which ofcourse he never did. I called customer service hotline but they couldn’t tell me much about our application so they contacted the branch instead and told them to give us an update. They also redirected us to another mortgage specialist from this branch, a certain Darlene. Darlene called us right away but she was the most unpleasant person to talk to. We have more than enough home equity for a refinance if we would like to consolidate our car loan but as per this Darlene, refinance is impossible as β€œwe don’t have enough equity”. It didn’t make sense because I know I gave the figures right and she even repeated the numbers I gave her. We almost had an argument over the phone until I told her that we already have an application submitted by Mr. Rai but never got an update. Darlene told me that she would ask Mr. Rai to call me and I was finally able to talk to him, thanks for my long patience I dialled his extension continuously for like half an hour. Mr Rai apologized and said he would call me back in two hours and voila! Two months had passed and I still haven’t heard anything. We have completed a refinance with RBC (where the most helpful people are) now, took just 3 weeks for everything to get completed. So yeah, if you’re banking with Scotia, never ever go to this branch. IT. SUCKS.

I made an appointment with Ashleigh Reynolds march 4th to get my first credit card as I went to school and got a secure job making good money full time and she filled out all the papers with me said she will get back to me. week later I hear nothing I email her and she tells me she wants a letter of employment. No problem. I got one for her and she told me she wanted to just double check with my boss another week goes by she never contacts my boss I email her twice no answer I go into the bank and ask for her and she said shes been too busy and will contact my boss asap. Still never contacted my boss. It's now may and still nothing. Honestly worst experience I've ever had with a bank and I am tempted to switch financial institutions because of this experience. My bosses daughters are with Scotiabank bank and said it was never this hard for them to get their first credit cards.

Trying to get an appointment to open an account is near impossible. The lack of hours they are open for working people is not convenient at all for doing things that they require you to do in the brand. Re think your hours of the working people of the world who have to come in to the branch! Opening at another bank.

Worst bank I have ever bank with. It’s really pain in butt when it comes to deal with them. I just had a Office Cheque to deposit and it was coming out of my one institution and going to Scotia. I had my bank manager business card to verify the draft still they don’t trust. And the lady there calling herself as supervisor wanted to call the call center to verify the Draft. I want to give no star but google do have it. So frustrating. I already close the account this same day. ?

I will start off with this, if you only have to deal with the bank tellers, well their service is fantastic and they are all very friendly, however my review is focused on the Management and Financial Advisors. 2 years with Scotiabank and it was error after error mixed with bad advice most of the time. Firstly the wrong product was set up when we switched to Scotia and when we inquired they told us there was nothing they could do. Then they did not pay our property tax with the city and this happened 2 years in a row, after we were assured the errors were corrected. Having the penalties reversed with the city is a nightmare when people from the branch do not take onus of issues or return phone calls. Then there was bad advise regarding a mortgage rate blend and we were not fully aware of consequences of blending. I will own part of this because I could have asked more questions. Then 3 mortgage payments in 1 month that I was told was my fault. There is more however you get the picture. After all of this we were still considering staying with Scotia until we were completely brushed off by the Branch Manager and his coworkers. They were condescending and borderline rude. I even escalated the complaint to the "Office of the Presidents" where they agreed that we had been treated poorly and none of this was within the "Scotia Way" .This office told me they would follow up, which they did and confirmed, after reading the correspondence between me and the Manager, we were treated unfairly and not to the standards of Scotiabank. They said we were valuable customers and it was unfortunate that the branch did not respond in a better manner. My problem was that I expected good customer service and when I did not receive this, I spoke my opinion we were black listed and they washed their hands of us and hoped we would leave. Which we did. I want to say thank you to those individuals that showed us out the door and to a financial institution that truly cares about their clients and their needs. We are saving a significant amount of money with the new bank and if it was not for the errors and poor service we would still be with Scotia, losing money each month. No hard feelings business is business and like I said I am truly grateful for these errors as it pointed us to a more suitable situation.

My brother and I walked into this location regarding some estate affairs. We arrived without an appointment under the impression it was unlikely we would be able to have our banking needs completely met during a walk-in experience. However, much to our surprise (and delight), our representative Hilda handled our issues without a hassle. We just wanted to commend Hilda on her competence and friendliness and for making the experience much easier than it might have otherwise been. Thank you!
