About Save-On-Foods

At Save-On-Foods, going the extra mile is nothing new. Actually, we’ve gone above and beyond in all areas of our business since we started, way back in 1915. Originally, we were called Overwaitea Food Group because of the founder’s practice of selling 18 ounces of tea for the price of 16, and the name “overweight tea” stuck. Fast forward over 100 years and that name has changed, but we’re still known for delivering extra value to our customers. Today our company is best known for its most prominent banner—Save-On-Foods—but also includes PriceSmart Foods, Urban Fare and Bulkley Valley Wholesale.

When I was there a few weeks ago, we found a green, extremely moldy package on the shelf, and when we gave it to a staff member no one came to check the other packages (I am talking, extremely moldy) the two times I have gone back since, I have bought produce that has molded within 24 hours of my purchase (probably already hidden mold in the product). They need to rotate their stock better. I can't go back, I can't spend money on things that I have to throw out due to mold.
A	Anne Kellett on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great grocery store with a pharmacy. Pharmacy hours could be improved, but so far I am very impressed with the selection of unique items. Deli is top notch. Great gluten free options storewide. Free range chicken, and eggs available. Meat is great quality. Lots of drugstore type items like make-up, brand name hair products at great prices and fabulous sales on many grocery items with your "More" loyalty card (free)!!

J	Jason Gacek on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of good, friendly people at the store. Sometimes slow check out, but not usually. Little stuff that bothers me, more to do with the store manager. Stopped carrying Heinz 57 Sauce that I now how to go buy at Sobeys, someone keeps plunking the milk cartons down heavily and cartons (not the plastic ones) are often dented on a bottom corner, and sometimes leaking if you buy without paying attention. The bathroom toilet has not flushed properly for years and still nobody has done anything about it. Other products I can’t get anymore are Tropicana Orange/Grapefruit juice, and sugar free peanut butter that you don’t have to stir the oil in every time, but that my be at the manufacturer level.

I'm a Senior, she shows respect. Asks how your day is going. She also knows where the Products in the Store are. Or she'll find out and never passes the buck. Also a shout out to the Pharmacy staff. They are knowledgeable and always willing to help.
