I’m grateful Save On Foods offers water bottle refills and exchanges at a fair price. $10 for deposit and $3 refill. Or $15 for a new full water bottle. Their location is super convenient out on this end of town. The store is always clean and staff usually friendly and courteous. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I find their food prices unreasonably high. They have a Membership which can help reduce high food costs but I find this a bit of a nuisance. I’m not much of a coupon-using or bargain shopper. I just like stores with reasonable prices I can count on so I can get in and get out hassle-free. That being said, I’m very happy with their water refill station. It’s excellent.

Always good experiences coming into here, whether its old or new faces. Big props to Beverly, who definitely went out of her way to lend a helping hand for me this weekend.

Amazing experience! Beverly delivered the most exceptional customer service! She was kind and assisted us with a pricing issue! Give her a raise!

Better than the other locations in Maple Ridge. Big wine selection and better takeout food options. Use the self serve checkout lanes as the cashier lanes can get quite busy.

False Advertisements. Sales prices aren't applied to the system! Cashier collected wrong price. I went to customer service and still not getting proper help. Customer had to go and take picture to prove sales price. It turns out customer service doesn’t know how to correct the price, and then asked for supervisor’s help. Even when the supervisor came, there were no apologies. Only long conversations between them, and trying to find an excuse to cover the truth…. Really a WASTE of customer’s time! They not only over charged 65%, but also had a bad customer service attitude!

This post is about one particular employee, not the store itself. Although, I don't know how she got past the hiring process.... I was in today to get a birthday card and flowers for my mom. The clerk sent me to the flower station to have my flowers wrapped by this particular employee. Aside from waiting several minutes for her to end her casual conversation, about nothing in particular, with another customer, she proved to be a condescending and disrespectful individual. While I was off to the side waiting for the flowers to be done, she spoke to a man who may have been homeless or of very meager means; this gentleman brought in some "pop" cans for deposit return. She addressed him by barking out: "Hello!?" with disdain and impatience. She then says to him: "You are aware that we only take 24 cans?!" again with distain and impatience. To be fair, she barely squeezed out polite acknowledgment when addressing me, but I cannot imagine her speaking to the general customer clientele this way. It really was disgusting. I wish I had the wherewithal to say something to her then and there. NO ONE deserves to be spoken to that way, customer or not, poor or not! I think some training in compassion, patience and proper engagement would be a good idea!

Anti-Maskers Welcome. Save-On is the closest grocery store to my home so the most convenient. The beginning of Covid-19, they were the slowest to get curb-side p/u going. First order, they told me "yes, it's ready at customer service INSIDE!! Transitioned to Super Store farther away but they had the service and safety very efficient. Started going back to Save-On on occasion for the past 6 months and noticed security waved unmasked customers through with no attempt to direct them to get a courtesy mask. Watched unmasked customers at open self-serve food stations even. Asked security why they let them though and was told it wasn't their job or business to know if they were protesting or had existing medical condition. Call to manager and was told that shouldn't be happening and that customers should be directed for a free mask from CS. My last 5 trips there had customers unmasked. Maybe we're close to being done with this pandemic but Save-on obviously has no interest in customer protection. I did not see this in other grocery stores. Security turns them away. I'm done with you Save-On.

This place never gives me a hard time for being mask exempt. Except one crusty cashier. I explained to her why I was and I think she wished she never asked me to put the mask on. Well, goes to show you, never be judgemental you don't know why people can't wear a mask, so socially distance as a secondary precaution. Staff is so helpful and kind. Their produce and protein selection are always beautiful. ?
