Hi, I am Dr. Alana Barmby, N.D., wife, mother, researcher, seeker, and naturopathic doctor with twenty years of experience. Like you, I know what it is like to be tired, stressed, hormones out of whack and can’t lose weight! However, by applying the principles of naturopathic and functional medicine, I went from surviving to thriving.

I always wanted to do something to make a difference in this world. The best way I can make a difference would be to help you have the energy and vitality to do the things that matter most to you. This is what I am passionate about.

I am deeply committed to a wholistic approach to medicine – Body (how we nourish and care for ourselves, Mind (our thoughts, feelings, mind set) and Spirit (a deep connection to ourselves and that to which is greater than all of us).

I take a very thorough case history because the answers are in your story. I analyze your labs in order to understand some of the influences affecting your health. I may suggest further labs so we can ask different questions and gain a more thorough understanding and provide the answers we need to optimize your health and deal with the root causes. I look at your diet, your stress, lifestyle, family history, sleep patterns, genetic reports and I work with you to co-create a plan that not only will provide solutions but will also take into account where you are at and break it down into actionable steps.

I typically make diet and lifestyle recommendations. I often prescribe herbs and nutritional supplements in order to support you in the short term and help you create the space you need to heal. I may teach you how to relax and how to tune up your thinking. I listen, I support, I provide a safe and secure space for you to ask for what you need and talk about your deepest fears.
