i ahve been taking my vehicles to lais for about the last 8 yrs. I have found dthem to be very friendly and professional and very convenient location for me. I could always get my vehicle in the next day or a few days ahead. That said though my last expereince was a very disapointing one. I had brought my vehicle in as the engine light had come on . I was told that oil was leaking it needed an oil change and other fluids were foundto be leaking also, But the main issue was that i was told that my vehicle needed a new water pump. I was quoted around 1100.00 to replace it. i gave the authorization to do the oil change leak etc but to hold off on the water pump. I decided to get a second opinion /estimate as 1100 is a lot of money for me!! Well to make a log story short I had the water pump replaced at a different garage and the total amount came to 420.00! Thats a VERY big difference!! I have read other reviews I am not the only one who has e xpereinced this. I feel very taken advantage of and my advice to other is ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!! Safe to say i will not be going back to Lais

Check engine light came on in my SUV as I was about to go out of town for a wedding. Peter at Lai's Auto was most helpful, professional & courteous to squeeze me in for a diagnostic which put my mind at ease to be able to travel without worry. I will most definitely be back to Lai's Auto for future repairs! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Peter is a God send he was able to get my daughters car fix and road worthy for her to be home for Christmas. When changing her alternator he noticed an oil leak. Shes taken her car back to Lai's and again Peter was able to fix the issue and find another one. His quotes are fair. We will always deal with Lai's and no other in sasktoon.

I got my winter tires put on and they diagnosed my 2 oil pan leaks that another dealership could not. They repaired my leaks sooner than they quoted and had all the parts in stock and the invoice ended up being lower than quoted. I’m very happy with the professional and courteous service provided by Peter and the staff. I will definitely continue to use Lai’s Auto for all my car needs.

It might seem a bit odd to leave a review of a business that you didn't actually use, but I had such a great experience there that I had to say something. I was in a car accident after 5pm on Friday. I was able to limp to Lai's auto, but my car was undriveable. They were closing soon for the weekend. I live 10 hours out of town and was very worried about being able to leave to go home on Monday. I was shaken up and can't remember the name of the guy who helped me, but he was so kind. He talked to Canadian Tire for me and was able to get me in the next day for repair. Then he called a tow truck and waited until it came and we were all set to go. I just appreciated his help so much:)

Peter was very friendly and straightforward about what the issues were. He explained things well and came up with a plan with me. They were able to get me in quickly and got the work done a day before expected. Chris took me into the shop and showed me the issues which I appreciated.

Had spark plugs and six ignition coils replaced. Service was superb as always. Very reasonable price. As always Peter took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Thank you Lai’s. My RAV is purring like a kitten.

Bad experience today. I gave two stars because the work is likely done properly and it was done quickly. BUT PLEASE, make sure to shop around for pricing. My Sister-in-law had her Toyota Highlander fixed here. She told me the cost of the work, I was so shocked by the high value, that I took time off from work to help her have a conversation with the man at the counter. She explained her concerns respectfully but he was set on his price as stated. He explained that they use premium parts (it was a rebuilt alternator) to explain why a $308 alternator is charged out at 152%, almost the cost of new. He relayed to her they needed to take off part of the engine to do the work. The initial labour charge he told her was 5 hours then he said 4.5 hours to diagnose and change the alternator (but the cost didn’t change), The work cost listed on the invoice was a general price because he said the program they use can’t show the hours on the invoice. Toyota sent a paper quote for 1.6 hour job, including the diagnostic and was willing to talk to the man at the counter on the phone about it. He made her drive to several shops, without the use of her vehicle, to get 2-3 additional quotes on paper. After she spent all afternoon bending over backwards to satisfy the man at the counter. The highest hours and the next most expensive quote found to do the work at another small shop was 3.5 hours. Eventually, he knocked off 45 minutes of the labour. Before the work commenced, to be fair, he was upfront with her with the high cost, but she lacked the background to understand the unreasonable costs as quoted. Make sure to get quotes from multiple shops.
