Sam Salama DDS

This is my first review ever, for services rendered by anyone. Only because the service is so good do I feel compelled to share my feedback. My daughter has had 2 root canals by Dr. Sam. Oct 2017 and Sept 2020. I can only speak to our 2 visits. We strongly believe he deserves much higher than a 5 star rating. He is a real person, kind and considerate. My daughter has extreme dental anxiety ( made worse by another dental clinic that specializes treating children and those with anxiety). She would have to be put to sleep to have any work done. Dr Sam worked hard with Carmen patiently and helped my daughter to get done what we needed to get done in 2017. He pushed himself out of his own comfort zone to help my daughter to get what needed to be done accomplished as smoothly as possible. You might say my daughter almost traumatized the dentist. Carmen is the sweetest assistant and gives from her heart to accommodate to our needs. Jeanie goes out of her way to be helpful. Our 2nd visit was in September 2020. Everything is much more difficult for everyone due to the global pandemic. Despite that we had an even better experience than in 2017!!! Office is clean and comfortable. Dr Sam did excellent work. Encouraged my daughter, gave a follow up call and actually thanked my daughter.They all are real genuine people with real feelings who seem to me to be working extremely hard to give skillful, kind, empathetic, clean, safe and good patient care. My daughter said " she wished Dr Sam could do all dental procedures" for her. I have had experience of interacting with for services with more than 8 dentists, dental surgeons and specialists in my life so far for me and my daughter. So I do have some experience to measure this by. For us Dr Sam was an answer to our prayers and I don't mean that lightly. We were in a very tight situation in 2017, super high anxiety, a tooth that was causing pain and needed to be taken care of and budgeting issues. We were treated so well and we will always remember and appreciate it! Thank you kindly Dr Sam and your Goldstar Team:):):)

Overall it was a pretty lousy experience from a customer service perspective. The actual root canal work that I had done seemed to be a good. Now a short 5 days later I have had the cap pop off and Dr Salama's office takes no responsibility. I literally had the lady from their office laugh at me because I have more than likely swallowed the cap. If your dentist is sending you here I suggest going elsewhere. Nevermind all that...the don't bill your insurance directly and I had bad vibes from them from my first interaction on the phone.

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Salama. Not only was his receptionist incredibly rude to every single person I watched her interact with, including myself, the actual experience of seeing Dr. Salama was traumatizing and painful to a degree that seemed heightened by his abrupt and quick manner. The quality of his work I later found out, was also poor. I was referred to Dr. Salama by my dentist who wanted to assess if a cracked tooth could be salvaged. Dr. Salama did not take more than two minutes to inspect the tooth. He quickly decided to complete a root canal, which may have been the appropriate action however he did so so quickly and carelessly that he broke my tooth. He carelessly drilled through my temporary crown because it didn't pop-off with the ease he expected (he basically gave it a quick pull and gave up, never even tried using hemostats). Then he placed so much cotton in there afterwards that my existing dentist had a very difficult time extracting that. If you are referred to this office, seek an alternate. Take my word for it. I spent over a $1000 for something that I now know should have been done with MUCH greater care and at a slower pace. I wish I had stood up and walked out as soon as he started talking & carelessly started knocking on my teeth with his dental mirror "to make sure he had the right one". SEEK AN ALTERNATE.

I was quite nervous about having a root canal but Dr. Salama made the process a treat! From greeting me as I arrived to keeping me calm and in good spirits throughout the procedure with his sense of humour and exemplary bedside manner, Dr. Salama is a true professional. His dental work was excellent and he even followed up with a phone call himself one week later to see how I was doing. Highly recommended!

Dr. Salama is amazing. I went to see him for periodic tooth pain/possible root canal. Very personable and friendly. He examined my teeth and explained everything clearly. I was initially referred to an endodontist who recommended a root canal on the day of my visit/consultation. I was not having consistent terrible pain. This was 5 months ago. I was not comfortable with his assessment and decided to wait to see how I felt. So happy I waited and recently asked my dentist for a different referral! Dr. Salama did not recommend a root canal at this time. If things progress he will assess again in the future! So happy I decided to get a second opinion! Great doctor!!

A few weeks ago I had a root canal with the Dr. He was professional, expert, and did fine work with a difficult far back position. He was also personable, funny and made me feel comfortable. Absolutely great experience!

Dr. Salama, thank you to you and your staff regarding my root canal appointment. I know that I never need to stress when I am in your competent care. I appreciate your services immensely. I was thoroughly impressed by your expertise and kindness during my appointment. I can’t say that I'll ever enjoy getting a root canal, but I do rest assured that if and when I need one, I know a pro! Thank you again for making my experience a positive one. I really appreciate all of your help.

Had a consult and root canal with Dr. Salama. Explained everything during the consult and answered any questions I had. We went ahead with the procedure a few weeks later. Well organized and seemed very efficient. Ensured I was comfortable. Great experience. I had a follow up with my dentist to fill the temp filling, she even noted how great his work is. I hope i never have to see him again, but if i need another root canal I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
