M	Mer luchador (EL LUCHADOR) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably the best short term shelter of the big 3 in Calgary. Very clean, safe place. Wveryone gets a real bed with a decent mattress, max 5 per room, rooms are hostel style and have a digital card swipe lock, and are behind 4 magnetically locked doors where you get a prox card to open. MEN ONLY. They will give you 3 meals BEST QUALITY FILLING MEALS in all shelters, have programs for education to drug rehab. Computer rooms actually open every day for 12 hours... Lots of blankets just ask and you have your own locker BY YOUR BED. Have to leave room at 8am weekdays to 4pm (please dont nag it keeps body and mind used to being up and about at normal working hours) but you can stay inside building in hallways computer lab and library... 30 day emergency are the 5 man rooms and if you have some job you can rent private rooms for 350 to 480 per month.... The ONLY issue I have is staff can be touchy at times and dont let you finish your sentence but it's an emergency shelter. If you want a place to get your mind together and back on feet this place can't be beat!!

M	Michelle Baranowski on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a friend that was staying at the Salvation army and for no reason he was kicked out of his room and not even allowed to take his possessions or even given a reason for why he was being thrown out to sleep on the streets tonight, and it is cold out(end of January).As he was talking to me a heard a lady shout at him to get off the property. My friend has suffered brain damage in November due to an officer beating his head into a wall repeatedly. Some days he sounds like himself and other days he sounds impaired. How can these people do this???? They get $1200 or more from the government to house and provide a room per person every month. So is this a money scam???? Kick a person out after a week or two then throw them out and get some other unfortunate and get $1200 again (double dipping) This needs to be dealt with. My friend is now on the street freezing and did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment!!!!!!!!!

Their towels suck mind you, so I would buy your own. At only $175 bi-weekly or $388 monthly it turns out to be $12.5 a day so it's reasonable low income housing.

I want to share my experience, I had really got to a situation where i don´t have home here in this city. I went over there in two time. it was very late , I rang the ball then they opened the door for me and then welcomed me asked me couple quotation for safety checked my breath then they let me in. They give me every thing I needed for that night a safe place to stay , food and help me clean up my self. the good part I want to Mention that every one was welcome, they did´t ask about religion or where are you from. that was really nice it´s looked for the seek of humanity. it was a wonderful way to preach with no talking their action and the art and their understanding was preaching and give the hope back to the people that really needed god. Thank you for representing the good heart.
