★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This resevoir is the source of drinking water in Canmore, and the mass influx of visitors to the area are resulting in a change of access policy. Best to avoid completely, or ensure you are leaving no trace / impact, or visit nearby quarry lake instead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely incredible source of drinking water for the town of Canmore. 5 stars as it’s the cleanest, and most delicious water to come out of the tap. I highly recommend it over bottled water. We don’t want this to taste like a swimming pool, plastic, sunscreen or you/your kids pee. Please don’t recreate here, there are so many other options close. Not a tourist destination or swimming hole. How would you feel if we could do the same in your source of clean water in your home town? Please don’t visit here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely love this place! Calm and beautiful for SUP and kayak. Great for kids! Water is cold but refreshing on a hot day. We come here every summer for family vacation and spend the whole day on the water. It’s big enough to not get bored but small enough to paddle the length of it all - there’s a great waterfall view at the end.
