Beware of agents who post rentals, then turn around and say there are none even though you're staring at their name on the listing. I call that unprofessional. Can't be bothered to help renters, sorry though, not everyone can afford to buy. It's all about profits, how much money can they line their pockets with. It's shameful that greed comes before helping others.

I found a really good realtor who I felt I had a good connection with. Unfortunately, they were busy and suggested I use Royal Lepage's Cindy Nelander instead. I found her lacking in knowledge of the area of Toronto I wanted to buy in. However, time was tight, as everyone knows that the city is in the middle of a treacherous bull market. I felt that I got less-than-satisfactory commitment to the research required to get the best deal. Cindy did not invest any of her own time into seeing if there were any identical units to the ones I liked available. This ended up costing us some money and negotiating leverage. I personally found a solid unit by using online tools and I was glad to have purchased it. However, Cindy Nelander's personal nature was abrasive. She acted smug and condescending towards us, and was virtually non-communicative after the sale, missing important appointments. It's unfortunate that the situation played out the way it did, and certainly "buyer beware" is a fair appraisal of the housing market. However, realtors must learn to act more in the interests of their clients rather than putting in the least work possible. I would look for the best agent possible and insist on NO shortcuts and walk if you sense your agent is completely self-interested.

We bought a condo unit advertised by Royal LePage at 3031 Bloor St W, Etobicoke. We were assured that the appliances were 8 years old. Soon after we moved in we started to noticed a foul smell coming from under the kitchen sinks, around the dishwasher. We disinfected and sprayed deodorants by the smell grew stronger day by day. Later on we started to have this bug infestation coming from under the kitchen sinks and around the dishwasher. Again we sprayed bug killers but were unable to put it under control. This infestation grew bigger and later on started to bite me around my neck, arms causing a severe skin rush later on it became infected. A plumber told us your Miele dishwasher have been liking for a long time, need to replace it. When we pulled it out it was disgusting what we found. The floor was totally rotten and the smell was unbearable. It was a nest of all kind of insects. Totally dangerous and disgusting. The horror story does not end there. While we were busy working in the kitchen our Bosch washing machine broke and after a few months the KitchenAid fridge broke too. We called the companies to have them fixed. When we told them the serial #s they told us the appliances are 20or more years old and parts are no longer available and to consider buying new ones. The owner did not disclose the true age of the appliances and the bug infestation. We have been spending money and working nonstop to make of this dungeon a livable place. It is very offensive and degrading the way the selling agents from this agency treat their clients.
