A hidden untouched gem of Saskatchewan, tucked away in the middle of seemingly nowhere. You will drive through countless farms from any direction that will hypnotize you with bordom until you cross the ridge overlooking Rock Creek campground and see the Saskatchewan badlands. It's an amazing sight. The campground has many small cabins to rent, RV hookups, tenting and even teepees. There are many hikes, though the trails are somewhat none existent due to both few visitors and the parks attempt to keep the grasslands looking untouched. Be cautious with your dog's, there are cacti everywhere. For the experienced hikers backcountry camping is sure to provide privacy and serenity despite the environments incredibly harsh conditions. There are no trees or lakes to seek refuge in so plan for constant harsh sun.

Cannot miss this National Gem if you get to Saskatchewan! Clear night skies are a beautiful sight to behold! Lots of hiking and for the not so adventurous hikers there is the Badlands parkway

One of my absolute favorite places in Canada. The interpretive staff are so good, and show you how to navigate the park and suggest places to hike to. There are no trails; you navigate by landmarks which is really different and interesting. I always see lots of wildlife, there are badlands, and dinosaur bones as well. Decent washrooms, good drinking water available, tenting and trailer spots available although no showers.

Great park - nice trails and clean washrooms. It's a bit off the beaten path but if you like hiking or stars then its definitely worth it.

If you want a hike where you are alone, no tourist junk, no noise pollution, clean air, wild life not a wild life and views so big that your eyes hurt this is the place.

Recently updated to serviced pads further up the hill from the visitor centre. Splendid views of the grasslands for each spot but pick the north side if you have a choice. The higher the better. On a clear night you will see the milky way as you never have before. Nearby is equestrian camping and a primitive tenting overflow section. All the sites are exposed to frequent high winds. Camping options also include renting a oTENTik (similar to a Yurt) or even a Tipi across the creek. The nearby McGowan visitor centre handles campsite needs during business hours. There is a cooking shelter and 3 excellent hikes begin there. Don't miss the newly open 11km Badlands Parkway along the top of the buttes. Spectacular views of badlands.

Beautiful views and a quaint place to camp. Needs paved access road from the highway.

Amazing park that preserves native prairie land. Amazing views, excellent parkway drive. Hard to get to, but the prize in the end is fabulous. Even after coming from the mountains. I can’t wait to go again.
