New restrictions, no dogs allowed! Sensitive ecosystem!!?? A fuel line was just built destroying a significant part of this space. Ridiculous.

Always lovely to be in a forest, so close to home.

Good place for blue and black berries picking season.

It's a nice place but the gate has been locked for some weeks now. The reason I was given (Richmond Parks) was because of vandalism. I still go walking there and I have not noticed any vandalism myself? Update: as of September 12, 2020 the gate is still locked.

It's not as built up as the main western segment of the park, but that's the point. It features one picnic area past a small parking lot, and one decently sized loop trail through the peat bog, including a long boardwalk on the northeastern segment of the loop. You'll never escape the sounds of the nearby freeways but it is a great short little hike through the forest, nonetheless.

Yes, a nature reserve in the middle of Richmond. A large intact peat bog, well maintained trails, endemic flora and fauna, a chance to getaway from the city. Also, a nature park bisected by a major freeway completely cutting one half off from the other, the borders of the park are all major arterial roads such that road noise is ever present no matter where you are in the park, parking is difficult and small in the Eastern half, better in the Western part, boardwalks can be extremely slippery when wet, and no garbage cans on the trails... pack in, pack out. I walked the Eastern trails at 0630 this morning and I was the only one and it was quiet and peaceful... save for the noise of the traffic barreling down Westminster Hwy and Sidaway. 3 stars.

My first visit: Very calm and therapeutic recreation nature trail full of delightful sights sounds and photographic treasures. Some absolutely beautiful birch trees along the trail. The trail is well groomed and clean with a long stretch of decking threw the wettest of the bog ( a lot of work and materials must have gone into the deck. Thank You Richmond Parks and Recreation!!!)

Nice park. Even a little wet, it was mostly walkable. You can hear a bit of traffic (went while the branches were still bare), but not too distracting. Will definitely be going back.
