I found him a reliable and helpful broker and I remember he tried his best to get different offers from different banks and compared all the benefits and advantages of each offer and discussed it with us. 1- he is getting best rate in market for you based on your requirements.
2-he has high level of ethics and he always put his client ahead of his benefit, in my renewal case when previous lender gave me unfair offer he helped me to make it better and YES, FREE.
3- it is a good idea to have his opinion before purchasing investment property.
4- he has access to the most lenders in Canada as independent broker, so you don’t need to be humiliated by low offer of major banks.
5- he is always available by phone, email and social media so you are not alone for big decisions.
6- he is friendly and calm.
7- as a person who has Phd in engineering he understands math very well specially for targeting faster pay off or making an evaluation for market fluctuations between fix or variable rates.

They got us a great rate and did everything they could to make the whole process go as smoothly as possible when we secured our mortgage.
