★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was meeting with John for my company yearend and he had identified that it was likely that I would be audited for my vehicles. He said that the CRA is selecting these audits using a computer algorithm and my automobile expenses would fall in this parameter. He suggested that I sign up for audit insurance so the professional fees would be covered. I did end up receiving an automobile audit request. Johns audit dispute tax team did an amazing job dealing with this. I provided the information that they needed and they took it from there. Great job. The assessment came back with zero changes and since John was proactive the only cost was the $320 for the audit insurance and I am still covered for any other audits that may come over the next year. Thanks to John and his tax team. It is a relief to know that I am always looked after so well.

I recently convinced my mother to bring her taxes to be completed by John since she has had some ongoing medical issues. As always John went over and above. He noticed all the medical expenses that she had and contacted her to discuss this further. After their conversation he suggested that she apply for the disability tax credit and helped us work with the filing of this. My mother has just received a cheque for $24k! We were shocked that the government went back 10 years. Thank you John!

The estate had some complexities and we needed to ensure that everything was taken care of correctly. The firm was very professional and the tax team has a specialty in estate planning and estate tax. I see why they were recommended by my lawyer and I appreciate the great job that was done to finalize everything and minimize the final tax owing.

My taxes involve personal and corporate Canadian and American taxes. Nathan and his team took a holistic view of my situation. This was a first for me.
I've used expensive big firms in the past that said they would do this, but ended up outsourcing my Canadian taxes to another Canadian firm and sending my US taxes to a branch office in New York without any idea of the big picture! In contrast, Geib made sure to do my Canadian corporate first to gather the necessary information for my US taxes and then did my Canadian and US together for optimal results.
When I've gone to smaller firms, they ended up billing me for "research" to understand my situation and applicable rules! In contrast, Nathan Geib's cross-border CPA expertise means that he can quickly rattle off form numbers, treaties, and relevant requirements. It's incredibly refreshing to have this kind of expertise available!
In addition, I received a lot of advice and pointers during my meetings with them to optimize future years. I can't say enough good things about the firm. If you have US tax obligations or want your whole life addressed with a holistic, comprehensive approach, Nathan Geib is your guy!
