Reid’s Auction Canada - Calgary

Reid's showed integrity when I had a complaint about an item I had purchased. I should have contacted them about my experience before posting a negative review. Moral of the story: seek resolution privately before posting a negative review publicly. I'm glad the owner made a comment on my review as it gave me a chance to reach out. Happy customer, will be back!

Very disappointed the first time (see below, positive on the second go), auction was reset after winning items and was told there was nothing they could do. Sent an email out to say they were reseting the system so that those with a slower internet connection could bid. I literally checked 10 minutes later after winning and everything was gone. My wins were not honoured and was told this was a third party issue. Sufficient notice was not given however to those of us who won and it would have been more appropriate to give us time to re-bid. Really awful first experience all in all. Addendum- Is it not true that I won several items, then said items were resold to other bidders? Does this not qualify as a bad experience? Had I not been given such rude treatment from your staff member when I called, I likely would not have left this review. In addition, when you have a customer complaint over a valid concern, you as a business often have options. You can offer a discount on fees should I choose to bid again with you in future, or you could have actually come across as remorseful towards my situation. Sometimes a little empathy goes a long way. Do something to ensure that someone trying your business for the first time doesn’t end up crying in frustration on a Saturday morning. It was a whole morning of my time wasted. Addendum #2 - I gave this auction another try and had friendly/pleasant interactions with staff and a much more positive overall experience, so have adjusted my review.

Worst possible customer service. I understand buying items from an Amazon returns auction, there will be some issues with said items, but if the auctioneer says returns can be done on unusable items, then why not take a bit of a risk? Turns out this place lies about being able to return items. Sure, the beard trimmer turns on, but it doesn't cut. Magnetic eyelashes where the applicator is missing the magnets, and therefore the eyelashes cannot be applied. Completely useless. Oh, but the applicator opens and closes, therefore it "works". Don't trust this place with your money. I'd give this place a zero rating of I could. EDIT: Further proof the people running this place don't listen. Look at their response. I specifically mention how the applicator is missing the magnets, and therefore does not work, and they talk about the eyelashes. "Oh, but the tool opens and closes!" Now they're trying to claim arm hair and head hair are like cutting the same thing. Not even going to mention the busted earbuds they scammed me on. They clearly want to shift the blame so that they don't have to take responsibility for their lack of descriptions on auction items. I made sure to take a screenshot of their "If broken or if they do not work you have until Thursday following the sale to return them" claim, which clearly they had no intention of upholding. Once again, save your money and do not use this place for auctions. They'd have a higher rating if they were honest. EDIT #2: "This is not a store and you must read." Read what, exactly? As I stated, no description. They just want to be dishonest. EDIT #3: To further prove I'm not being picky; I bought the Instant Pot from them on the same day. Horribly dented. Works perfectly fine. Obviously I did not try to return this, as it works.

Buyer fee (15%) extra 3% on credit card payments Plus 5% G S T. So in total U pay 23% on your purchases, If you paying by credit card. You can save 3% if you pay cash or by bank card. comparatively, It is one of higher buyer fee in Calgary, But still good. End of 2018 At Reid's All Auctions are online, Now they have every thing in lots number and can be view on Friday ( but they can add new items on Friday evening as well)

Love the online auctions!! Descriptions are always accurate....just have to read them. On pickup, always such helpful people!!

Been dealing with the team here now for a couple years. They're very upfront about needing to check your purchases before bidding but there have been a couple circumstances where I showed up and it was the wrong description, they refunded me without issue and were very pleasant. Those saying it's disorganized... It's an auction... The entire place changes week to week. If your diligent in inspecting what you're buying then you can buy with confidence.

I enjoy going to Reid's Auction every time! I have found it very organized. The place is immense but they always find my stuff easily. They are very up front about checking your items, bids etc. before bidding. I have found them to be very pleasant and efficient. I look forward to the next auction. Thanks.
