About Distinctively Paint

Distinctively Paint launched in 1998 as a little Mom and Pop business as faux finishing experts. In the beginning we didn’t paint walls in the traditional sense. The brush and roll process was left to someone else. It didn’t take long till the frustration with painters that didn’t fill properly or pole sand between coats inspired us to take on the task ourselves. Faux finishing provided a strict requirement for smooth, well painted walls as the glazing techniques would catch and smear at every imperfection.

Over the years, more than 20 now, our experience and reach grew. For a time, we promoted exterior painting. It was great to get out in the sun and work in the open air. However, Mother Nature wreaked havoc on project schedules. We now only do exterior work by special request for existing clients.

I had to follow up on more then one occasion to arrange a onsite visit for the estimate, and following that to inquire on scheduling. When faced with a concern they would rather I sign a waiver to waive all liability then work with me, or discuss with me their concerns. Highly disappointed and wasted so much of my time.

M	Mark G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Distinctively Paint did an amazing job on our project. We had our kitchen and master bathroom entirely resurfaced, staircase, wainscoting, and interior walls painted. Was a huge job and they rattled it off in just over a week. Was a little skeptical about how fast they did the work but it was really well done. They did the work while we were on vacation so not sure how many people they had working on the job but must have been a large team to get it done. They gave us green tape to run around and flag any blemishes which we did and they addressed those right away. Even had a counter installed after the cabinets were painted and they ended up getting a little scratched during the install and Distinctively Paint came back and fixed those too. Awesome service and would highly recommend Distinctively Paint!

They perfectly matched the paint colour and went the extra mile to ensure the job was done well. The customer service of this company is refreshing. Many contractors we have dealt with are just trying to get in and out really quickly without taking time to understand and solve issues. This was not the case for Distinctively Paint they took the time and went the extra mile to solve issues and get the job done well. I would highly recommend the Distinctively Paint team.

Full of excuses, terrible communication, overall bad company management, and the work is sub par at best. I only included a few pictures as there’s far too many to post. We had cabinets done, trim, banister/railings front/back doors, closets, powder room/bathroom and walls on our main floor. There was an issue with EVERYTHING except the banister/railings. Multiple trips into our home to “fix” the issues. Every time something was missed or forgotten. The workers used our home as a place to store their freshly caught fish in our fridge without asking, they left a ladder in our yard for over a week, they didn’t communicate for 2 months when repairs were still needed and finally agreed to give us a small discount for our troubles. Even had they discounted it 100% it still wouldn’t be worth the hassle.

She was dedicated to my project and I am extremely happy with my refinished kitchen and bathroom vanities. Any questions or tweaking of my project was answered in a timely and professional manner. Calla and her team went above and beyond and on budget! I would whole heartedly recommend Calla and her team for any painting needs.

Our kitchen cabinetry was very tired looking and seriously out of fashion, and because we have an open concept floor plan, the aging wood really dragged down the look. All I can say is that I am so very lucky to have engaged the services of Distinctively Paint. Calla has a super eye for colour and I happily went with the first choice she selected for my new cloud white cabinets. They were so accommodating in terms of schedule, and we were able to plan the interior spray for when we were out of town. All of the cabinets were removed and sprayed in their spray booths off premises — not every place does this believe it or not! But if you are going to spend money to do a major overhaul like this, then doesn’t it only make sense to do it right? They just took care of everything from start to finish, including drilling holes for and installing the new cabinet hardware. The new cupboards looked so amazing, I changed the wall colour and had them back to do that paint and to paint the ceiling! Top notch work, absolutely amazing people, and honestly they bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. I can unreservedly recommend this company for any paint job in your home. Super stars!

We had our kitchen cabinets, new pantry door, and island painted. Diego and his team did a magnificent job and were completely professional - on time, clean, and organized. We liked them so much, we hired then again to come in to paint our office wall unit. Not completed yet - will post again. Super grateful! Would highly recommend. Cheers to the entire team!
