Raven Crest

Booked this vacation rental for 3 nights through VRBO. Blueberry Hill is between Creekside (10min drive) to the south and Whistler Village to the north. (5min drive). It is located in a residential area just off the highway and the building has 9 units per floor x 3 floors. It is a very quiet area as there are no amenities in the immediate vicinity. The Valley Trail which is a paved path going from beyond Creekside up to the Village runs right past this area alongside Whistler Golf Course. It is picturesque and beautiful and an easy 25min walk to the Village. Going the other way on the Trail, you can get to Nita Lake within 20min and along the way visit Lakeside Park on Alta Lake, and Alta Lake park as well. The unit is quoted at 2400 sqft with 4 official bedrooms, 2 with king beds and 2 with 2 x single beds. There is also another room in the loft area with a single bed and trundle. The unit is nicely set up with open kitchen and all appliances, formal dining room, fairly large deck and spectacular views of Whistler Mountain and all the runs. Parking is in the covered and secured visitors parking area. Access to the building and unit are via coded panels so checkin, checkout and ins/outs are easy without need for keys. Of note is the fact that this trip our units front door panel suddenly quit, making it impossible for us to leave without being able to get back in, but the property manager responded immediately and called in a locksmith, but the locksmith themselves never showed so it was a bit of a waste of a day. To the Property manager's credit however, he attended personally as soon as he heard that the locksmith never showed and fixed the issue himself. Because of this event, i docked a star, but in reality, the service and responsiveness were very good. The building itself and unit are probably 15 years old or so and showing their age, but very functional. No pets allowed in our rental unit. I liked the quiet nature of this rental, but to be honest, i would probably rent closer to either Creekside or the Village where you can walk to more amenities, or be in a position for ski in / ski out, but otherwise this is a great option. Especially for larger groups or families as the unit sleeps 10.
