A nice little bit of respite from the business of the city. You definitely can hear the highway from here, but the lake; the forest and the trails are a great place for both those looking to go for a walk, those with puppers and those on bicycles.

It's really unfortunate that so many dog-owners treat this area like an off-leash dog park. The signage is clear that dogs must be on leashes. We brought our new rescue dog here; he's good with other dogs, as long as they're on equal ground. Well obviously we aren't going to let him off-leash because it's not allowed. He was immediately bombarded by about 4 dogs, all with owners failing to recall their dogs, and then yelling "don't worry, they're friendly". I don't care if your dog is friendly. My dog is going to be uncomfortable when he's on-leash and has nowhere to go while all your dogs circle around us. Later, a husky ran 200m away from his owners calling him, straight into our dog's space; after that, the poor guy didn't want to walk any further so we had to turn around and go back to the car. PLEASE follow the rules so everyone can feel comfortable using the trails! I'm sure that the mountain bikers and hikers also don't appreciate the off-leash pups.

I like this place. I primarily use it for mountain biking. The trails are nice enough, however this is a massive location with no clear markings on any trails. Simply adding any indication of where you are or what trail system you're currently on...or where the exit is would truly be a boon to this location.

It's a beautiful place to go for a walk. My friend and I and her grandchildren enjoyed coming here in the Fall to see the beauty of the colourful leaves. I'm glad, we wore our comfortable shoes, because there is alot of walking. It wasn't that busy, but we did see people riding their bikes and fishing. We enjoyed the environment and nature. My friend wanted to come here with her grandchildren to enjoyed the country setting. She wanted to get away from the City. I don't blame her. We did get to see the river. We also seen people jogging and some brought their pet dogs on a leash. They do have parking. We had to pay to get in. Their opened at 7:00a.m. till 9:00p.m. from Monday till Sunday. They do have Washrooms and Wheelchair Accessibles Entrances.

Great short hike for a sunny afternoon! Main loop around Foretract Lake and the meadow is about 1.5 km long. If you do the larger loop which goes through the forest and around Backtract Lake it is about 2.5 km long. The long loop took about 1.5 hours to complete, but we stopped several times so my dog could swim/ for snack breaks. I parked at the lot on Wellington Rd 32, parking and entry was free. At that entrance, there is a sign posted that says dogs must be on leash. Despite this, we encountered several off leash dogs which was not enjoyable. Wouldn't return here with my dog again because it seems people treat this spot as an off leash dog park instead of a conservation area.

Would be really nice if there was a porta-potty or something there. It's really a busy place. Lots of multiuse trails and single track. Probably can get close to 15km if you did it all. Local bike clubs use the trails for training in evenings. Have seen some horses and hounds there in the past so use caution if you see them. Some people and dogs swim in the ponds in the winter people skate on the ice and bring hockey nets. Free parking is nice. Garbage bins are at the trail entrance. If you want a good hill work out stay to the left heading out on the trails and you will catch all the big hills on the south side of the park.

A nice little conservation area to go biking, hiking or to walk the dog. There are a lot of bike paths that criss-cross with the main path. It would be a huge benefit if the main trail was properly marked for those that don't know the park too well.
