I just got off the phone with the owner and her son, Sylvain, and I am shocked by our interaction. I was about to leave a positive review (regardless of the bad luck I had - read below) , however this unexpected call changed everything. Here's my story. May 5th 2020 I order a Napoleon Prestige 500 Natural Gas BBQ from their website. Everything was smooth and their customer service via email was friendly at helping finding the right gas adapter for the valve. May 20th I receive my shinny new BBQ. Everything looks great and so far, I'm loving the experience. Fast delivery and already assembled! May 29th I'm grilling food on the BBQ and all of a sudden I feel extreme heat from the BBQ (this must be the 3rd time or so I use it). I can barely touch it and notice the front knobs falling off. I manage to turn it off and unplug the gas. The front and bottom of the BBQ have melted (see pictures). For a 1600$ BBQ, and 1 week of usage, this is unacceptable. I email BBQ Prestige the same night explaining the situation and asking for help. Sylvain replies immediately and schedules a call with me the next day. That week, we talk about the situation and he tries to find a solution (replace the BBQ). We go over his inventory (obviously with COVID supplies are low), however nothing in-stock that is available. I explain to him that I don't trust the Napoleon Brand after what happened (things could of been worst, kids could of burned themselves and my house could of caught on fire). Sylvain offers to replace the BBQ with a Weber CSS-335, however I ask him if he can do something to get a bigger model as the 335 has less burners and cooking surface. We end up agreeing on the Weber S-435. He informs me that 1 has already been ordered and I might get it in a week. He also agrees to swap some of the accessories I purchased to fit the Weber, including the cover + iGrill thermostat. 1 Week later, no BBQ and no follow-up. I call back to know what is going on. Delays - assures me should arrive the next week. 2nd week, still no BBQ, and no follow-up. I call back. This goes on and on for about 2 more weeks. At some point, I feel bad and tell myself I'll just wait for them to call back. I also ask him if I should clean the BBQ, remove the grease pan or anything. He tells me to let the BBQ as is, because Napoleon's engineers will want to inspect the product to find out the defect. 2 months later (we are now in July) and I decide to call back as I haven't heard back from BBQ Prestige. Perfect timing (I guess..) they just received it and will ship it to me in the coming week. July 21st: I finally receive my replacement BBQ! Looks great and all accessories are there, except for the iGrill. Whatever, I'm happy I got my new BBQ. July 28th: I get a call from BBQ Prestige, asking for payment for the balance of the BBQ swap. WHAT!? No "how's the new BBQ", "sorry for the long delay" and "sorry for the inconvenience"..nothing. Basically, the owner requests that I pay 250$. I try to re-explain the situation and that at no point did anyone confirm I would get charged an extra. I work with multiple vendors and when there is price increase/adjustment, you usually get some form of confirmation BEFORE the order, not after. I get tossed between the owner and Sylvain, and basically they are trying to make me feel bad as I ripped them off. I'm not very pleased with their tone and approach, and I try to talk, however this feels like a one way conversation. I also try to inform them that I did not receive the iGrill Thermometer (a 120$ value) and that I also returned the quick adapter connect (40$ that I paid)., but didn't request any refund. Also, they start complaining about the fact that the returned BBQ is dirty. I try to explain that at multiple occasions, I've spoken to Sylvain and asked him if I needed to clean it, empty the pan or anything...and that he said NO. The owner asks if I will pay, I say no, they hang up. For 250$ (and technically 90$ if we count the missing iGrill and refund), you just turned this into a terrible customer experience.

It's my first time dealing with BBQ Prestige, and I was satisfied with the service since they had the burner in stock for my old Napoleon grill. A more local competitor who I trusted did not, and would not make any effort to obtain it. Another based in Ottawa claimed to have it in stock, but after making me wait 8 days, I called them to find they couldn't find it even though I had paid them up front for it. BBQ Prestige actually had the part and shipped it to me within 3 days. Merci pour le bon service, BBQ Prestige!
