Planet Fitness - Saskatoon

I have had a membership with Planet FItness Saskatoon for about 10 months and I go there 3-4 times a week. I chose this gym for their pricing and for the amount of machines they have. I prefer to use the machines instead of the free weights, and so it works out. I find the gym very clean, and I like that I can always find a open machine. I also like the upgrade to the parking. The staff is friendly and some even rememebr my name. One complaint would be with communication. If they are going to be closed for what ever reason, it would be great if they could let the membership holders know. I went a couple times and it was closed. Other than that, I have had a really good expereince and really like the atmosphere.

Just take a look at all the reviews referring to billing, contract and customer service issues before you try this gym. When covid started, I called to cancel my membership. I was informed they would be putting memberships on hold. I still wanted to cancel as I was planning to move out of the city and was assured it would be cancelled. Never thought about it since. I was going over my bank statements to figure out where my money was going, and 2 years later I found out they were still charging me and have spent almost $600 for 2 years I did not use this gym. I called to get it sorted out and was rudely told its my fault for not signing off the contract. I was never told I had too whatsoever, and if I WAS and all I had to do was sign something, I would have. I wrote on my personal subscription spreadsheet "called and cancelled" and that was the last I ever thought about this place. Stefan the manager was completely useless in terms of customer service and helping me find a resolution. When I asked his name he wouldn't even provide his last name. This place will rob you! There are reviews stating that their memberships were cancelled without signing anything, by accident of the employees. If that can be done, why wasn't mine cancelled when I DID want it and was told it was? I asked for a refund and was refused. By the amount of poor reviews in this area, expect a lawsuit. I'm appalled at how this was handled when I called. Stay away from this place.

Had my first session at Planet Fitness and I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely feels more corporate than my last gym, and has a bigger crowd, but the perks (hydro massage, red light therapy, massage chairs, etc) of the black card membership make it all worth it.

Deceptive. No commitment plans very quickly turn into contracts if you try to upgrade to a more expensive plan. Be extremely careful when extending or upgrading your no commitment plans. The gym itself is fine if you like machines. Not near enough free weights or benches. Unless you plan on going at strange times of day be prepared to wait for the equipment you want to use.

Large space, lots of cardio equipment and a decent amount of strength training. Only thing that's almost always full it seems are the weight racks with the bar that slides on poles so you can do non spotted weights. Only 4 of them and it seems at least one is always occupied by a young person with a phone that gets 98% of their time. They can be on a rack for an hour and do like 10 up and downs of whatever they are pretending to do? But that's not the gyms fault, but they could keep a better eye on things and do something so I don't have to be the one trying to make the place better to work out in. The place is very clean (other than the entrance) and most things are in decent working order. The cost is very reasonable and staff are friendly. Most everyone wipes down equipment when finished also. Background music is provided and TVs infront of the cardio ( gotta love the food network while on the elliptical ?) are great. Underground parking daytime also available free. It's worth getting the $10 a month upgrade to premium for the extras in my opinion. Even if it's just to bring a friend occasionally.

The worst customer service, rude operators, interest is only on milking you of your hard-earned money. I registered and only used the gym for less than a month, yet I was charged twice for nothing, and when I informed them of my working outside of the city and would love to cancel, that was when I was told I had to pay the contract fee, wondering when signing up to use gym facility becomes an oath of death, why should that be when am the one paying the fees and patronizing them, maybe every mall and grocery shop should start binding their customers on contract. I do not recommend Planet Fitness even to my worst enemies. Please look well before you leap. I was there several times, and they were closed without informing customers that they will not be opening, tell me why have customer's information, and yet they cannot be informed of any abrupt or disrupted closures, because they don't care about you, you can waste your gas driving to meet a closed door, it’s none of their business. Just so they take control of your life, you are required to provide details of your bank account, so they can collect whatever they feel and whenever they like. I regretted ever registering with such a club, I wish there was a rating of minus 1billion, that would have suited me better. You would have to present Doctor's note if you must freeze for a longer time and must show up your face to them just to let them know you are freezing for a month, even when my employer does not require such, it’s so absorbed. I call it “Subtle enslavement and slavery in the land of freedom. Pay them your money and still be enslaved, please look somewhere else, there are better fitness centers out in the city.

I’ve been coming here for a few days now and I don’t know what took me so long. There are a lot of new and easy to use equipment, the staff are very friendly and easy to ask for advice. The facility is super clean and well kept, and the massage chairs and hydro chairs are an awesome bonus. The fact that the membership is easy to afford, makes the choice to go there that much easier. I am looking forward to continue my journey on being a healthier me at planet fitness.

Been coming to this location since October of 2021. So far it's been an excellent place to spend some of my evenings. The gym is always pretty quiet, very clean, and staffed by some friendly individuals. I would recommend visiting for anyone who isn't an experienced lifter that needs a ton of floor weights. They have a lot of treadmills and machines that are great for beginners and intermediates.
