About Pita Pit
When Pita Pit began back in 1995, Braveheart was Best Picture, Seinfeld was all the rage, the Worldwide Web was just taking off and the DVD was new—and a major innovation.
So was the idea that drove Nelson Lang and John Sotiriadis to open their first Pita Pit in Kingston, Ontario.
Today’s trend toward healthier eating was still a long way off, but Nelson and John were ahead of the curve. They were convinced the time was right to offer a fresh, healthy alternative to traditional high-fat, high-carb, high-calorie fast foods. Their Lebanese-style pita sandwiches packed with fresh veggies, grilled meats and zesty sauces were an instant hit with the college and university crowd, especially since the store stayed open late—well into the wee hours of the morning, making it perfect for students taking a break from studying or coming home after a night of partying.
Within two years, franchise stores had begun opening right across Canada. Two years later, they were opening in the USA where the concept took off immediately with consumers of all ages.
Today, there are more than 650 Pita Pit stores in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Clearly, Pita Pit’s “fresh thinking, healthy eating” motto is an idea whose time has come.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I work in the area and come here for lunch often. I have noticed I had been charged for a large chicken when I ordered a small chicken, and still received a small chicken pita... This has happened 3 times in the last three weeks...
The worker did the same thing today, and never asked if I want whole wheat or white, she just gave me whatever she felt like. She then proceeded to start putting in vegetables I didn't ask for, and then got upset when I asked for hummus because the vegetables she put in were now in the way.
Staff could use some better listening, application, and customer service training.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please change your closing time, we drove for 20 mins because all other pita pit locations were closed by 9:30 pm and this was till 10pm. We entered store location at 9:53 pm (I agree it’s pretty close to 10 but wasn’t 10 yet) the girl serving there was like its closed. She stated “we close at 9:50 pm). So I am requesting please update the time so that others shouldn’t drive to the location thinking it is open till 10pm on Fridays.

Lots of food is visibly not fresh or on the verge of not being fresh (brown salad, crusty dried out mushrooms and olives, visibly dirty sauce spatulas, tomatos you can probably spread they're so desintegrated), the place is very dirty and extremely run down, things don't work (menu), washroom was disgusting. The portion size is totally off: large turns out to be the same size as small! Just so disappointing. Pita Pit is usually consistently soooo good..I unfortunately can't go back to this location it's just so unsanitary and gross... ? (The Pita pit franchisor should visit, perhaps even AHS.) Person working there had no help and was not provided with a paper menu even though the digital menu wasn't working - it was such an odd experience! I Ltd the second time in a row I've been here and experienced this, I wanted to see if he they would change before I wrote a review... No change - i should have walked out...
