★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited to see a hamster for twenty minutes. We didn't get to see one. There were three people working there. I even asked one to help me and he told me to ask the other guy. Who mysteriously goes into the back and doesn't come out. The guy at the til saw and did nothing about it. I even said very loud " I GUESS WE ARE LEAVING WITHOUT SERVICE ". Nobody did anything. Just stared. That's a great job. If you don't want customers.

But this one in Poco is fantastic. The staff are so good with the animals. And will let you handle them is you are comfortable. They make time to handle the birds (and other pets ) so they are friendly and used to interaction. I bought a budgie here. Brucey lol he is fantastic and while he doesn’t really want to be handled he isn’t terrified as I have seen some from other pet stores.
I also at a different time bought a Cockatiel, (Frankie) he/she was friendly and quite comfortable with stepping up so it was clear that the staff had been attentive to him/her. Frankie is so sweet, always wanting kisses and head scrictches ❤️
Yes they are more expensive for the birds here. But they put in the extra time with the pets so it is completely worth it.
Worth the drive to go out of your way to go to this Petland location trust me.
They have an excellent selection of toys and food also

Yes the prices are a bit on the higher side but I don't mind when I know I'm getting products that are made in canada. I have several fish that I have purchased from them and all are happy and healthy

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i've loved going here since it first opened. great selection of rodents, fish, and supplies for all your pets needs! staff are super friendly and always willing to chat/help. if you're a pet lover in need of a serotonin boost, this is a great spot to pop into for some great energy !
