β β β β β I have been going to pause for 5+ years. Itβs a great atmosphere with even greater people! Every time I go it feels as though Iβm among friends. I greatly appreciate how much they care about their customers and their pricing structure that already includes tax and tip, makes the whole experience even more stress-free.

β β β β β Pause is a beautiful, little neighbourhood gem. Their staff are incredibly welcoming and professional. One can always rely on the highest standard of hygiene with all services provided. Their promotions and packages are an excellent value!! Gratuities are included in prices. The space is positive and inclusive.

β β β β β I went here for the first time to get a shellac manicure at the suggestion of a friend and I will definitely be back. It's a beautiful place inside with incredibly friendly staff. Having not been previously aware of Pause, I had some questions about services provided and Angie explained everything throughouly and helped me make a final decision on what colour polish I should get. I don't live in the neighborhood but as it's an inclusive and welcoming spa, it's definitely worth the trip! Can't wait for my next manicure

β β β β β Had a facial here recently, with a gift card. The booking process was a bit odd - you can book online but then it can take a day or so for the booking to actually get confirmed. Iβm used to online booking being pretty immediate. Originally when I received the gift card, I started following the spa on Instagram, and there were a lot of posts from the owner complaining about the lack of support they received from the government through the pandemic, and having package sales to get money in the door to pay the rent. I felt really bad for them, but also was concerned that theyβd go out of business before I got a chance to use the gift card. The greeting at the spa was very nice, and the aesthetician I had was friendly and warm. The facial itself was relaxing, and the extractions not too painful. They also did shoulder and foot massage as part which was a nice surprise. I left feeling rejuvenated. The only problem was when I got home and looked in the mirror, I noticed my eyebrows were covered in a very visible orange substance (one of the products probably) and Iβd just run a few errands like that without knowing. When I went to wash my face I also felt a considerable amount of the exfoliant left on the skin. Clean-up could have been better for sure.

β β β β β I got a shellac manicure at Pause Beauty yesterday for the first time, and I had a really great experience! They asked for my pronouns for my profile at the very start, which I wasn't expecting but really appreciated, and it felt like a queer-friendly space to me. I also have nails that are short & break easily because of medical reasons, and the manicure both looks and feels strong & great. I'm already recommending the place to people I know, and I have follow-up appointments.
