Joanne is my go-to hair stylist in Toronto. I live out of town and have travelled into the city for years just to see her :) I used to pop by to get a quick cut, now that she's appointment only, I call ahead. She's incredibly creative and takes the time to give you the look you're going for.

One of the worst experiences I've had at a hair salon. i expressed very clearly that i wanted no more than half an inch taken of the top she assured me she understood rudely stating “yeah yeah i get it” then proceeded to take out a buzzer for the back to witch i said oh it doesn't need to be buzzed and she said “yeah i know what i'm doing it look good” i replied by asking if she could at least use the number 8 guards to witch she got more aggravated and again rudely assured me she understood but then proceeded to start clipping the back of my head with no guard almost to the grain. I blame myself somewhat as I really should have just stood up and walked out at this point but it seemed what was done was done and she continued to assure me she knew what she was doing and asked me again in a rude aggravated tone to be quiet and she gets it she understands. suffice to say by the time she finished the front far more than half an inch was gone. By the end the cut was very clearly not even meaning i not only didn't get the cut i asked for but the cut i got wasn't even well done or presentable. She then in a demanding done i assume expecting me to not want to pay for such a poor job asked i pay 45 dollars witch does not seem like the usual rate but i obliged saying ill pay using debit to witch she said she only took cash (no signs indicated this nor did she tell me when we started)i asked where i could find an atm and she said there was a place done the block, i then had to run to find this restaurant and back to the salon i quickly gave her the money and left regretting going back to pay her at all. Truly the most awful time i've had at a hair salon i can not urge you enough to stay away she will give the cut she is comfortable giving with no regard to your request rob you blind with ridiculous prices and be very rude while doing it

I’ve been going to Joanne for the last decade. Once you find a great hair stylist you trust, you stick with them :) She gives the best cuts and is a talented color technician.
