Pacific Midwifery Practice

I am 37 and was pregnant with my first baby when I moved to Vancouver. I found Pacific Midwifery and they welcomed me as a new client bit also as a person new to Vancouver and far from my family. I regularly met with all three midwives - Terry Lyn, Jesse, and Mandy and their competence and compassion both made me glad that I was going through my pregnancy with them. They gave me all the information I needed, they always gave me as much time as I needed to talk to them, they encouraged me to call them if I had even the smallest issue, and they made me feel confident at every stage of my pregnancy. They always supported my decisions, and helped me make good decisions when I was unclear. In the end, when I went into labor, Terry Lyn was on that day. She is experienced and wonderful. We had a water birth at BC women's and through the entire process I trusted Terry Lyn to help me make the right decisions. I needed all three midwives a lot in my post partum days, especially with breastfeeding. They were always available and helped me through some difficult times. When I needed it, Terry Lyn referred me to a breastfeeding clinic. This was an extremely valuable referral. I highly recommend Pacific Midwifery.

I am so grateful for my team at Pacific Midwifery. Jesse, Terry Lyn, and Mandy were knowledgeable and supportive throughout my pregnancy and for the 6 weeks they followed us postpartum. Appointments never felt rushed and my husband and I both felt like we could ask questions without feeling judged or dismissed. They informed us of our options and supported our choices the whole way through. We delivered at BC Women’s Hospital in December. I am especially, eternally grateful to Jesse for delivering our baby with a perfect combination of professional competence and emotional intelligence. Nothing went according to our birth plan (of course!) but Jesse helped us navigate and make the right decisions for us each step of the way. Her reassuring, calm demeanour made giving birth less scary than it may otherwise have been. I’m not sure if I’ll have any more babies, but I have no hesitation in recommending Pacific Midwifery to other mamas.

Our experience with Pacific Midwifery was nothing short of amazing. Jesse, Mandy and Terry Lyn were individually knowledgeable, kind and supportive throughout our entire experience, and my husband and I both felt very respected and supported throughout every interaction with them. Jesse was the attending midwife for the birth of our son at home, and it was truly the most positive experience due to her care, patience and encouragement. I really wish the postpartum care didn't end after only 6 weeks, as I know we will never receive this personalized level of support with a family doctor. A huge thank you to the entire team at Pacific Midwifery Practice for supporting us through the birth of our first baby!

We had great experience with Chloe. She was a very nice midwife that knew everything. Spend night at the hospital as my wife had tough Labour, we love her. Thank you very much. Your visits home after birth were fantastic. If we could only see you with our son Elias as I practitioner now :) I guess the only option is to go back with our net baby in few years :)

I gave birth to my baby last summer with Pacific Midwifery. I could not be happier with the quality of care I received. Terry Lyn, Mandy and Jesse are all outstanding care providers. They are excellent communicators, tremendously knowledgeable, and empathetic. Throughout my pregnancy, they took time and care to discuss options, listen to concerns and answer all my questions, allowing me to make informed decisions at every stage. They supported all my decisions wholeheartedly. From start to finish, they made me feel cared for, confident, informed and empowered. I feel so positive about by my birth experience and so much of that is thanks to this wonderful team. They were there for me every step of the way through a very long labour and finally, the delivery at BC Women’s Hospital. Their postpartum support was also incredible; after every visit I felt both relieved (all my nervous-new-mom questions having been answered) and more confident in caring for my newborn. Once the postpartum recovery period came to an end, I really missed seeing going to regular appointments and seeing them! My husband and I would recommend them without reservation (we recommend them to all our friends), and they would be our first choice for care in any future pregnancies.

The Pacific Midwifery team has supported my husband and I through my first pregnancy since Jan this year, and I believe we had the most empowering pregnancy and delivery experience because of them. As a first time mom, I didn't know anything about pregnancy,midwifery etc. I contacted a few midwifery practice offices but PMP contacted me immediately. Timely and reliable communication was such an important part of this journey so we decided to go with PMP. Diana was so quick to respond to all my inquiries. Chloe, Jesse and Terry-lynn we're very knowledgeable and available. They took their time to make sure we were provided with all relevant info for us to be able to make decisions. Unlike doctors visits, their approach was so much more patient oriented and not overtly medicalisted. They made me feel much less anxious throughout my pregnancy. I always felt we had a choice in every decision. I cannot thank Jesse and Chloe for their support during my labour and delivery. Chloe provided me with reassurance and came over immediately to check on me during my labour. Jesse coached me through the delivery and it was the most amazing experience. I felt i knew exactly what to do and most importantly super supported and safe. Post partum care has been very positive as well. I couldn't have asked for a better team!

Pacific Midwifery Practice followed me through both of my pregnancies. I have nothing but great things to say about them. They helped put my mind at ease and answer and questions I had regarding the home birth I had planned. I was lucky to be able to successfully have both of by babies in the comfort of my own home (one of which through covid, which made me even happier to be able to stay home). I would highly recommend them to anyone. As well as recommend a home birth. Great experiences for both of my girl's births! Thank you all so much ❤️

I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for pacific midwifery and Jesse. Though I have never met the staff in person, they helped me a great deal during my ectopic pregnancy/miscarriage and recovery. The first time I was pregnant, I had scheduled my first US appointment with them. I miscarried before my first US and before I met with them. They were very supportive on the phone. The second time I was pregnant, I advocated for an earlier US appointment because the doctors suspected an pregnancy in an unknown location/ectopic pregnancy for my first pregnancy but because my HCG levels continued to decrease, I never got an answer. So to calm my anxiety, they scheduled an earlier US appointment at 7 weeks and 2 days. Unfortunately, I was experiencing terrible symptoms at 6 weeks and 5 days. I called the pager # and Jesse gave me some relief options. It worked but later that evening, my symptoms were so bad that I had to check into the ER. The ER doctors did find an ectopic/tubal pregnancy and did the surgery that day. After my surgery, Jesse called me and left a message about next steps regarding recovery. Thank god for this because I had so many questions. Jesse was open to hearing all of my questions and front loaded me with what to expect within the next couple of weeks. Jesse also asked if I would be ok to be referred to the recurrent loss program at BC womens. Super grateful for this referral. Thank you pacific midwifery.
