We had the steamed bbq pork (asado) from various spots during our trip-Sun Fresh, New Town and Bao Bakery. Sun Fresh was good and their buns were larger and filling was mixed pork with I believe char siu flavouring or similar with the red hue. Bao Bakery was also good with their pork filling but meatball form inside. New Town’s steamed bun was the best I find with the filling-minced pork, flavourful, and the dough bun itself was the perfect size in my opinion. The bun was light, round and airy. Our family ordered 2 boxes each for 3 families to bring home. They were that good! Coconut buns were also delicious. Dim sun menu was also tasty. Service was fast and food was made to order.

Such a gem in Chinatown for baked goods! I love coming here for their steamed buns. Very good value and huge portions. The fresh baked goods are highly recommended, don’t miss out! The fried glutinous rice dumplings are also amazing here. Their glutinous rice flour dough is nice and bouncy.

I’ve been coming here for decades to buy their pastries, steamed buns, and baked goods to go; as well as dining in. This is the place my Dad would take us for lunch or a snack when I was a kid in the early 80’s. Their steamed buns are still the best, followed by their apple tarts. A favourite dine in menu item is their lamb and bean curd stew…so flavourful! Comes with the daily soup, and bottomless tea.

Try out their Steamed buns!! All variety are so good. You can dine in or just order for take out. Lots of homeless in the area though so just watch out if walking from downtown.

One of the best Asian bakeries in the city. They also serve Chinese food inside that you can sit down restaurant style. The food is also very delicious. I highly recommend this place, the pork spring rolls are super amazing. The Chinatown location is kinda in a sketchy area, the food is worth getting beat up for.

Iconic! New Town Bakery is famous for their Bao/buns. Best buns in Vancouver/Canada. We've been coming here for 40 years You won't regret visiting. Line ups on the weekend but it moves fast. Reasonably priced and delicious.
