Asian fusion at its finest. This place is almost impossible to get into. For good reason. Located in a newly Renaissanced area of Vancouver's Chinatown, this hip spot is vibrant and alive. The food is par excellence with smaller tapas plates that are meant to be shared amongst friends. I come to this coastal gem of a city probably twice a year and I never miss a trip to Bao Bei.

Very tasty food with great service. Marinated eggplants and sichuan fried chicken are a must.

Amazing food, wonderful vibe, fabulous service! Not a place I would haul my vegetarian friends to, though pretty sure the restaurant would make them something, so not worried they would starve, but so many dishes have delicious bits of meat or seafood... yummy beef tartar, pork saddle, sweet rice cakes dish. The greens were top notch, the starter eggplant and bean curd (tofu) very good. All a party in the mouth! The bubbletea tart for dessert was sublime. Attention to detail throughout was most appreciated. Definitely will return!

Lovely place, first time visiting in around 7 years. You pay a good price for the food but it's all top notch. The drinks are fantastic and the service is homely. Would love to go back. One thing to note is that if you have a mushroom allergy, a good number of the items on the menu will be off-limits to you.

This place is killer. A unique take on Chinese cuisine. The sichuan wings and Brussels were our favorites, the dumplings and buns were great as well. The service was very good, suggesting a delicious bottle of gamay to go along. Highly recommended.

Always excellent. Mantou still as good as they were when they opened. Chili fried chicken was a surprise highlight. And great cocktails as always.

The name seems like a Chinese restaurant but the food tastes doesn’t like local Chinese food. Western people may like it cuz it’s for their taste to cook but if you are Asian don’t go there you won’t be satisfied with their food! Overall, they did really good job on their vibe and food and every Chinese elements

Totally ? recommend this place if you enjoy Chinese food with a bit French twist! Finally we were able to make reservations at this highly sought-after restaurant during my 3rd stay in Vancouver. And it was every bit as I would expect of it. The dish were delicately put together. Not big quantity but the quality more than make up for it. The fried tofu and dumplings were must tries. The seasonal fish was very seasoned. The staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and very friendly. The only thing that was not good was while waiting outside, we were constantly harassed by the homeless. Coming from Portland OR, I was surprised how aggressive they are here in Vancouver. Overall it is a place you don’t want to miss out when you visit Vancouver.
