While the Toyota Camry suited my needs very well I had to wait for the car to be cleaned when I arrived at the Queen St location. When the car was ready the wing mirrors, interior windows were not clean and the floor and seats had crumbs and food stains on them. My wife and I spent another hour cleaning the interior before leaving on our trip. When I returned the car and expressed my disappointment the Queen St location discounted the rental fee by 10% which was appreciated. In all other respects my rental experience was very good. I had a terrible experience at this location (226 Queen street, Ottawa). The costumer service is so bad. the agent is so slow and not nice to me at all. the car was not clean, gas was not full. When I asked they told me we will calculate the gas when you return. It is not a full option car and you will never know how much gas it was missing!! the return was as bad as the pick up the same lady took about half an hour to finish the costumer before me and no one else there. She did not want to give me the final receipt and said will send by email. I picked another car under Enterprise as I had enough with national but she put it under National and gave me a completely wrong contract. I called back and she said she fixed it and can't send it be email I have to go back to the location to pick it up!!!

I rent from here regularly and it's always been great. On the rare occasion anything has gone wrong staff have always gone the extra mile to fix it and I've always left 100% happy.

Rented a car for Easter weekend. Had initially booked a mid-size, but they didn't have one at pickup time (they were quite busy) so we were offered an SUV. It was a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander with about 4000 km, so a recent vehicle in essentially new condition. It was clean and had a full tank of gas. Customer service was polite, friendly and efficient despite how busy they were. The whole process went smoothly. Will definitely be renting from this location again.

I have been using this location to rent vehicles for just over a year now and I have been very pleased with both the product and service I have received. Their prices are among the most reasonable I have found and I can use my Air Miles to redeem. Plus, staff have frequently offered me a free upgrade when possible. Very professional staff but also relaxed and comfortable in their approach.

I don't even have words to qualify how bad National Car Rental is. I won't make it long but we rented a car a couple days ago to go to Montreal and catch a flight back home. Before going to take the car at that Ottawa location (Downtown) we made sure to call National Car Rental phone number to MAKE SURE that everything was fine with our reservation. We made sure to mention that we had an international driving licence and the person that we had on the phone assured us that there was ZERO problems with that. Today, we arrived at national and were told that nobody from national car rental was there for us and that we had to talk to someone from enterprise (we had an appointment at 4:45PM). The person was really nice but told us that we couldn't rent the car because it was illegal for us to drive with a belgian permit (written in french and English) !?! I've asked to talk to a supervisor or whoever could give me a clear explanation of what was going. As I called the number he gave me and try to resolve a very serious problem (we have our flight tomorrow), this person told me that she wasn't working and was available tomorrow?!? I couldn't believe it. I was very frustrated and hung up the phone. I really don't recommend any international traveler to rent a car with this company in Canada, at least. There needs to be a BIG change on their website and their phone services needs to provide customer with the SAME and EXACT information that the website is providing. This situation is totally unacceptable. I sincerely hope that my situation will help you make the best decision when choosing a rental car company (since this is the second time we had problems with them).

Very unprofessional and rude staff. The lady working there was on a personal phone call and was not attending customers and talking to them in actions. Very bad.

This location is national & enterprise Would be 0 if possible, reserved a car using vroomvroom for this location at 3 pm for national. Showed up, reservation was not showing apprently, did not price match. Reserved through priceline at 4:20 for a diffrent location for enterprise, i was close by so went in asking if they could provide car here, took them 10 minutes and 3 yes and no responses to finally give the okay.. paid, waited 30 minutes becuase cars were not clean, went to parking around 4:40 ... waited for gentelman before me and my car to get cleaned, signed the damage waver and car pickup contract, at 4:55 when other location was now closed the genious manager who had prevously okayed the pickup and had them charge my credit card and sign the pick up contract said that the boss has said he can't give the car on reservation for diffrent location when reserved same day for "security reasons" Told him he had closed my window to book a car today as locations close at 5 and I was stuck there for past hour, it was also wrong of him to cancel already confirmen reservation due to his internal issues, requested proof of cancelation of contract! Gave me none, requested recorded audio confirmation, refused. after 15 minutes a picture of supposed void contract was taken by phone as compermise as he refused to print anything and I refused to leave without the car I had already paid for and signed for due to liability issues and my lack of trust to this clearly untrustable branch. Manager refused to give me his name and calling corporate my contract is still open and the 1000 dollars I paid for rental and deposit yet to be returned. When a manager refuses to give his name, branch wastes your time and does not honor a confirmed sales of service, you should not trust the location. Waiting on my money as of now.
