MR Kitchens - Ottawa

RUN! Do no use MR Kitchens! They absolutely ruined the job on my good friend's kitchen and refused to come back and fix their mistakes. They do not deserve the rating they have on here -- steer clear and find someone else who actually does what they say.

I highly recommend MR Kitchens on Merivale Road. I bought my kitchen cabinets and counter tops from there. The designer and the manager of the installing team, are professional, reliable and friendly. To start with Becky, our designer, she is very patient. I visited the show room more than once and had so many ideas. I also changed more than once before we finalized our order. Becky never complained or showed impatience. When I chose some accessories that led to exceeding my budget, she offered other items that would have the same function but less expensive. She came over to my house more than once and all her measurements were accurate. When I wasn't sure what to choose, she helped. She had a smile on her face all the time. The manager of the installing team, Glen, is also very professional. He also came to my house after installation more than once. I am very picky and when my kitchen cabinets were installed, there were some small details that were barely visible. He asked me to write a list which I did. When his team member came over, he fixed all what's needed to be fixed without complaining. When it comes to timing, they were also punctual. So, if you are thinking of renovating your kitchen, MR Kitchens on Merivale Road is the place you should go.

MR Kitchen had been my first company I contacted after I decided to change cabinets in my kitchen. I never imagined that it will be eventually my choice to go with. Becky Chekan was just amazing at our first meeting. We chatted, and meanwhile - after I informed her about my needs - she took measures. When she finished, I couldn't believe that it it was done so casually and fast (maybe because I was busy with chatting - Becky is such nice person). Then I tried other options, but meanwhile, Becky delivered the visual project, and I knew right away that that's it. I never looked back, never regretted my choice. Materials are of a good quality, installation was quick and perfect, and the price is pretty affordable. Definitely, I recommend MR Kitchen to everyone remodeling a kitchen.

New Kitchen - February 2021! When I finally decided to redo my very outdated kitchen I reached out to MR Kitchens, and I could not be happier that I did. Throughout the entire process, from design, measure, installation through to follow up post installation the entire MR Kitchens team was absolutely FANSTASTIC to work with. During the design / planning phase, Becky Chekan was beyond amazing - As a customer, I came to Becky & MR Kitchens not knowing the color scheme that I wanted. I also came as a customer that always had a "cluttered/disorganized" kitchen, really needing more space to keep things out of sight, and more organized. I knew I wanted cabinets that were light, bright, calm, with a little whimsy/retro feel and also knew that I absolutely did not want the standard white or grey color schemes. Design challenge accepted! Becky & MR Kitchens to the rescue! Becky listened, understood my budget, and intuitively helped me find the exact look and feel for my new kitchen. Her thoughtful suggestions, guidance and design sense resulted in a kitchen that I am over the moon happy about. She also ensured that I had the added space I needed to keep the kitchen clean and clutter free, suggesting some great accessories/add-ons within my budget that I would not have thought of myself but now can't imagine living without, and then also helped provide me with guidance and suggestions for flooring / wall colors to tie everything together. The install/service team were also SO GREAT to work with at every step! From Remi, to Nathan and Jay (and everyone else that helped me on my journey to my new kitchen), I cannot speak highly enough! They go above and beyond -The team was always really responsive, quick, clean and the resulting work that was done was impeccable! On a snow day, one of the installers even went so far as to help clear the end drive way for me before he left! MR Kitchens is the place to go! Great products, great people, great experience and a really fabulous end result!

They want $$$ just for initial consultation. I mean I understand that you want only serious buyers, but there are other ways to determine that. I walked out. I don't know if this is COVID craziness, but when you walk in and someone asks you for money to talk to a salesperson, it makes you feel unwelcome. You aren't a nightclub.

We purchased a complete kitchen from this company a few years ago, for our new home build. Kitchen is great, after service is horrible! We first called July 22 '21 to order some brackets that have broken on a few drawers, as unfortunately they appear custom and we could find no suitable generic replacements. After about a dozen follow-up emails and phone calls, we still have not been contacted to resolve - almost 2 months later! I would not recommend this company simply because there is no follow-up service or support, very disappointing given what we spent.

This is the first time I've written a Google review but I think this one warrants it. I had my kitchen re-done in March 2016 and the cabinet doors below the sink are chipping and look terrible. I used their online form to send pictures but never received follow up. I have called and left messages with their after services support but no one returned my calls As a last resort, I called the store and they gave me the same number I had for after sales service. So I called again but the extension they gave me hung up the phone so I called and selected a different extension. Same thing. Really poor quality. I would think the cabinets could hold up near water better and horrible after sales service. I don't recommend this company. Oh yeah and the designer couldn't read the engineers report properly so it was up to us to change the design a few days before construction so it would work properly.

I do not recommend MR Kitchens at this time. Initially our experience with Heather on job 1480 was excellent. Very courteous and fun to work with. She walked us through the design process and even created a video simulation of our kitchen based on our planned finishings. Very impressive. 5 stars. Then came the time to deliver and install the kitchen cabinets. We have separate contractors for the renovation and tiling. They've been very patient with us regarding the delays. We were initially scheduled to have our kitchen installed late September 2021. They were tight on schedule and told us it couldn't be done until mid-October. Then we got called that they were going to be a week later for delivery. Not much we could do. They took the full payment for delivery. A few days later and they delivered the cupboard bases. They cited too many scheduled jobs and delays in getting parts for the delays. I took time off assuming delivery and installation were the same day. Nope. Please wait for your installer to come later. During covid I can understand the parts issue and so we were patient and waited. Feeling helpless about the situation. No doors or drawers were delivered on our delivery date and no reason given. Not sure if this is standard practice but when asking questions, we'd get no response other than for scheduling. Another week and the installer came. He was friendly. Left with a few items still unfinished. There were shims sticking out of the upper cabinets and the backing on the island was missing. Another week and we get our cabinet countertops templated for a quartz countertop with waterfall. Two weeks later we have a countertop. The measurements are off for the waterfall. Back to the shop and returned and fixed the next day. This part was excellent and quick. At this point we've had to contact and reschedule our kitchen contractor at least 4 times due to delays with delivery/installation, thus affecting the plumbing company and the electrical companies that we've also hired. Our sole contact, the scheduler Robert doesn't return calls nor to update us on what's going on despite several emails and calls for updates. We are over 7 weeks past our initial scheduled installation with terrible communication and customer responses. Hopefully, the renovation will be concluded with all parts delivered and installed. We were given a five day range for them to come install the drawers and doors. This makes it hard to schedule our lives around. I may upgrade this review based on the finished product but it won't be 5 stars. Initial sale and design is definitely top notch. The actual work...less so. Communications and logistics during installation, very poor.
