★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great and rewarding hike. It took us just under 6 hours roundtrip, with a 30-40 minute break atbtue top. The first 1.5 hrs I'd say is doable for most people who have some hiking experience. But I'd only recommend the second half of the hike to experienced hikers. The scramble up the ridge is alot of fun but it gets pretty narrow and steep in some sections where you have to be more cautious. If you're going in late August or after, bring a hoodie/windbreaker/rain shell. Even if it's sunny and warm when you start out, you might need an extra layer at the top. Trail access was a little rough but doable if I went slowly with our low clearance AWD minivan. But you'll have a much easier time with a high clearance SUV or truck.
