★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Family run and they serve home cooked meals that are delicious. Their curry and teriyaki...as simple as it may be, tastes delicious, homey and well worth the reasonable price! The workers here are very friendly as well. Of course they also serve a variety of other comfort foods like sandwiches, muffins and ice cream. A good place to go for a meal!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This family run joint is the only place I found with ice cream in Kananaskis Village. They offer soft serve with a number of flavors. I ordered chocolate, dad got black cherry, mom had peanut butter. The peanut butter was the only one with any real flavor. The others added color and sweetness, mostly. Prices are reasonable, even for the candy. Candy cost little more than in the city, which is surprising compared to other "general stores" in this area.
The staff are friendly and patient - no sighs when my son kept changing his mind or I couldn't decide which flavor.
There is a little seating area inside but I recommend you take your food to the picnic tables outside. There's a pond and waterfall so it's a nice area to eat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kananaskis Mountain Lodge (Blacktail Bar) told us it was a 20 minute wait to be seated... Well, after not hearing from them for about 30 minutes, we stopped by to see why the delay?? The young gal, half apologized and said it would be at least another 40 minutes or more. So glad I heard about the Moose Family Kitchen and we stopped there after this disappointing service from the Bkacktail. Glad we did; my wife had the teriyaki beef and rice and I had the Shoyu Ramen noodle soup. Both were really good and saved us a trip to Canmore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Happy we found this establishment. Delicious home cooked rice bowls, sandwiches and coffee. Prices are reasonable too! Great alternative to the overpriced coffeeshop and restaurants in the hotel.

Try the bacon grilled cheese; not just any standard Kraft cheese grilled cheese but a nicely done panini press version with real cheese that gives a nice pull. Inclusion of bacon was delicious; next time we might try ham as well.
The vanilla soft serve is great, but they also have about ten flavour additions you can try depending on what is in stock.
They do have packable bagels and sandwiches you can quickly grab before you head out as well as an assortment of snacks, candy, and coffee.
