There were some parts of my meal that were phenomenal, I got the Atlantic char and it was delicious, I really liked the corn that accompanied it too. However the steak was just alright, which was unfortunate considering the price point. The beet salad was also really enjoyable and fresh but the dessert we got was not. It tasted stale, it was a smore tart and the marshmallows tasted old and the tart overcooked. I loved my stay at the hotel but the meal especially due to the expense of it for the quality wasn't something id necessarily repeat.

Went on a Thursday night. Our server, Francois, made our experience here a night to remember. He was excellent in giving his honest opinions with all the available menu options. I think he deserves a shout out for being such a spirited, jolly waiter. Highly recommend trying their beef ribeye as it was unlike any other I have tried. We also tried the tartare, escargot, arctic char, mashed potato, and wild mushrooms. Loved every single one of them. Overall, a great place to stop by when you are at the lodge.

Came here for my anniversary dinner tonight, and left very disappointed and hungry. We ordered their special 8oz bison with polenta and leek/fennel, and not only did it look a little small for 8oz, it was a tad overcook from medium rare to medium. The polenta with cheese was grainy and unpleasant. The leek and fennel was awkward as the outer skins weren't removed so it was stringy and hard. As for the porkchop, they cooked it perfectly well, but unfortunately lacked seasoning. The potatoes were dried and not salted, and there were small cuts of carrots? For a restaurant that is supposed to be higher end compared to Forte, the food, plating and service just wasn't even comparable. Save your money and go to Forte for an incredible night. ***Brad the manager was the star tonight. He went above and beyond to make our night right. He got the kitchen to remake the food and it was presented better and was more appetizing. He also sent us a complementary bottle of Sparkling Pinot Gris from Church & State Wines and a meat and cheese board. Thank you for all that you do, we appreciated it!

What can I say about this place is that it is beautiful and inviting. My husband and I celebrated my birthday dinner here and the place is packed. An indication that this restaurant serves tasty food. Make sure that you book your reservation. We ordered AAA Alberta Beef Striploin and Alberta Beef Tenderloin. We both sliced it in half and shared. We both got to taste the meats and they were flavoursome while their smoked bone marrow mashed potato is mouthwatering. Of course, you had to end the meal with a dessert and we got the Classic Baked Cheesecake. You think it is a heavy dessert after having a full meal of meats and carbs, nope. We actually finished everything. I don't know about you but I can't find any negative words about the what we had. You won't regret spending your money here. Thanks to the chefs who prepared and cooked our meals. It will never be forgotten. And to Dana, our server, she will tell you everything she knows about the menu particularly the Mains. What impressed me too is she remembered booking our spot despite of me wearing my mask the night before. You are definitely in great hands in every server you meet and that is what makes your visit special. Thank you for your service and making us feel welcomed from the Manager to the server.

Great service, just like the rest of the resort. The cocktails are creative and fantastic. The steaks were top-notch, and the cheese toast was definitely worth it.

Had a fantastic dinner at the Cedar Room while staying at the Pomeroy Kananaskis. Amazing service and excellent food make this a destination in of itself. We recommend a reservation during peak operating season. β€”β€”β€” The service was impeccable from start to finish; Francois was super charismatic and friendly and made the whole experience entertaining. He gave some good recommendations that we definitely enjoyed; the Pan roasted duck breast was succulent, flavourful, and a must-try. The Chateaubriand was a great choice as well; the sear on the outside was fantastically done and the meat was tender and delicious when paired with the red wine jus and bΓ©arnaise sauce. Our favourite sides were the Cedar Room carrots and wild mushrooms, however, the smoked bone marrow mashed potatoes and charred broccolini were good as well. For dessert we finished with the smoked butternut squash layer cake which was reminiscent of a carrot cake. Our only criticism for this dinner was the dessert; although the cake was good, the inclusion of several salty chunks/sprinkles of salt on the top were somewhat overpowering; we were actively trying to avoid the salt on top of the cake and ended up not finishing it. I would highly recommend the Cedar Room for their service and the food; a little pricey especially with added drinks and sides, however, we think it’s well worth it and definitely the best meal to be had in Kananaskis.

Last dinner before returning home at Cedar Room within Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Fantastic service and beautiful venue. We started with Alberta Grass Fed Beef Tartare. It was very tasty. When in Alberta must order steak right? Hubby had the 12 ounce beef strip loin with bacon jam and smoked bone marrow mash potatoes. Doesn’t that sound delicious and decadent? It was highlight of our meal. I had the Pan Seared Arctic Char and was cooked and seasoned perfectly paired with a glass of white wine. This was a relaxing and memorable experience at the end of our trip.

Delicious but you pay to eat here. I’m happy to spend money on a food experience, I myself have 20 years in the industry, but I didn’t enjoy seeing some things with the open kitchen. We know things are made on bulk, it shouldn’t be presented so obviously at the front of the kitchen. I would of also liked to see more staff watching tables, while our server was great sometimes he seemed there could be more than one of him….but likely Covid.
