★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent bakery that has been a pillar in Vancouver since 1930. Not only are they an outstanding, classic bakery, but they make wonderful fresh soup and sandwiches, plus a selection of full size cakes & pies, along with some gluten free things. They do specialty items for the Holiday Season, Easter, etc. I appreciated all of their efforts at the beginning & thru Covid. They are a wonderful tradition and meeting place as much as an excellent bakery. ...they have drinks and coffee too! Quintessential Kerrisdale Must Go To Business!

Sarah and her family are way above any other bakers in the Lower Mainland. Customers drive in from all over just to visit this Kerrisdale landmark.

The interior is quaint, with a timeless look that reminds me of bygone days with mom and pop shops and corner stores. The downside is the floor space is very little. The only seats available look uncomfortable and the area is open so there is little privacy so I would recommend you to take out to try their goods.
GOODS:
Some of the best-tasting Birds Nests and Nanaimo Bars I've had in Vancouver, if not the best. I bought some today for a birthday cake replacement after a heavy meal, and everyone commented on how these small desserts do not bloat you up like other bakeries that use too much sugar or cheaply-made ingredients.
The price was all right, ranging from $.90 to $2 for each confection, and a discount if you buy a dozen or so.
SERVICE:
During all my visits, the staff have been polite and knowledgeable about the products. Unlike other places where they would try to hustle you in and out quickly, the employees would take their time to talk and build a connection with you if the pace isn't too busy.
Definitely worth a visit if you love small desserts!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful and friendly service, great mom and pop feel. This bakery has been here for a long time, and for very good reason. Homestyle type of baking. LOVE the eccles cakes - huge, crisp and delicious. Great pies too. It was so lovely to see all of the dedicated senior customers being treated so patiently and politely by the young weekend staff there. Parking is a bit of hassle around that busy Kerrisdale area, otherwise would go more often for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was walking in Kerrisdale and broke my stride by popping into the bakery. Not knowing what to expect I saw a case with lots of goodies, breads and pies! The Nanaimo Bar caught my eye as I've made it myself. It was delicious and overall not as sweet as they can be- bottom Graham wafer crust was slightly crunchy with shredded coconut and walnut pieces, middle custard layer was smooth and creamy and it was topped with a thick layer of melted Baker's chocolate. I tried the Brownie and Birds Nest cookie. All were tasty! Reasonably prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought a vanilla cake, very good price only $24. But, got what I paid for. Cheap ingredients, icing seemed to be made with margarine not butter. It was flavourless and oily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice bakery, good option from bread to baking goods, all the classic abs very nice cookies. One of the few places they use nespresso coffee, so very good. Very friendly stuff and seating both inside and outside is a big plus this days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have such yummy baked goods from breads to sweets. I used to work close by and this place was always a staple. It really feels like a sense of community in there due to their amazing customer service and consistency of regular customers. I would suggest their lady fingers! They're my favorite. :)
