I am a single father of three kids. My youngest daughter is a student at St. Regis. To be honest, I was skeptical when I sent my daughter here. However, I was wrong. My daughter told me leaning at St. Regis has been her best schooling experience since elementary.

I've been a student at St. Regis Secondary since the beginning of this school year. Although it was my parents' decision to transfer me to SRSS, I ended up liking this place a lot more than I've originally anticipated. Before coming to SSRS, I've been attending for the past 3 years another high-ranking private school that's renowned for its students' academic performance. However, my old high school generally felt kind of cold. There were many Chinese students in the school and people often competed and looked down upon one another. While my old school has well-rounded infrastructure including a super cool library that make you feel high-class, it was really a place where a bunch of kids who didn't really care about one another gathered together to pretend to be people that they really weren't. It's just so obvious people are doing things merely to get into a prestigious university, and it seemed like only a handful of students actually cared about school spirit and their HS experience. The teachers too felt distant and rigid, and the principal was never around. In short, it wasn't a comfortable environment and it was extremely difficult to develop quality friendship there. =( In stark contrast, I found SSRS to be a quality platform of learning. The school is small and that's perhaps the best of it as it feels more like a family rather than a school. Just by spending a few hours there, it's not hard for one to feel the close connection between the staffs and the students, as well as the students among themselves. The school is very much a student-directed school, where we students get to decide what kinds of activities to do and how to get it down, so aside from the courses and textbooks, there really is quite alot of fun. I also like the after-school tutoring program where my teachers re-explain concepts I didn't quite understand and ensure that I get my homework done before I leave. This is pretty awesome because it helps me get rid off my procrastination problem! I've actually become happier and more confident after coming to SSRS, and I feel that I'm improving academically as well ~

I spent a year studying at this school. The teachers are supper nice and professional. Counsellor and administrative staff are friendly and supportive. Most importantly, I met great friends there and although we are now going to different universities, we will still get in touch.

Whoever that gave St. Regis 1 star and left no comments are most likely jealous competitors who got out-competed! I know this as a solid fact because I've been a student here at St. Regis for quite awhile, but I do not recognize any of the names and accounts that gave my school only 1 star. We're a small elite school with a tight community, one where everyone knows everyone. I therefore harbor strong feelings that "the unknown 1-star" is a disgraceful attempt to lower the rating of my school. It's disgusting to see this kind of behavior on net because St. Regis Secondary is definitely the BEST school I've been to, and I've been to quite a few schools as my dad serves in the forces and we've moved quite a few times within different parts of the country. The teachers at my school are the most knowledgeable and patient, and they've worked hard to help me seek great improvements in English writing and math. My math skills were particularly weak upon my arrival to St. Regis, but now my grades and my work habits are now strong enough to help me make a decent shot for NYU and UBC. I feel that teachers and admin. staffs at my school treats every student as an unique individual and genuinely cares about every single one of us. I also made awesome friends here as our school fosters a tight, encouraging, and motivating community. This actually makes me feel a lot more confident about going to university for I know I'll have good buddies to support me by my side. I've also learned judo at our school's judo club and had plenty of fun on field trips, paintball games, and volunteer service trips. I think our school's got a highly-inspiring environment, and coming to this school was perhaps the best decision my parents ever made for me =p

I'm a current grade 11 student at St. Regis and I really enjoy what the school has to offer. I don't feel I was too strong academically prior to coming to St. Regis as I was often too shy to ask questions especially in class. However, my grades improved substantially after coming to St. Regis as my teachers are always willing to help and explain many of the concepts I've had issues with in math and physics from ground zero. Another thing I really like about this school is that the admins take the students' requests and concerns seriously. The principal is really chill and he's always available for any type of idea and discussion. Since I've been a devoted yoga practitioner for years, I really hope that the school could integrate yoga into part of the school's curriculum or activity. Although I thought I was going to get turned down when I first raised the concern, the principal and VP took my idea seriously and put it to work within a few weeks. I'm truly happy now we have yoga as one of the selections for the school's PE class exercise, and I feel blessed that I'm at a school where they perceive each student as an unique individual rather than just students.

I represent a local NPO who works in cooperation with St. Regis in promoting education and social justice in some of the most needy areas of our community. The leadership of the school demonstrates strong interest for this cause and structures many components of the school's educational programs based on this spirit. The school works closely with its parents and provides them with transparency and strong support. Based on the experiences of my visits, I found St. Regis students in general to be more polite, confident, and motivated. We have plans to enrol my son once he reaches the sufficient grade level required.

Based on me and my son's collective experience, St. Regis is definitely one school that values education and it's students. The school places strong emphasis on discipline and hard work. Overall, I feel the school has a strong leadership and a positive sense of willingness to communicate and cooperate with parents to keep them in the loop. The teachers too display a genuine sense of care for their students. Through the school's afterschool tutoring program and homework supervision program, my son was able get caught up and eventually get ahead with his education; this had a positive effect on his personal confidence and self-esteem. We value our time at St. Regis to be a rewarding one.
