★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe they are good or professional, but after visiting them, I did not see big changes in the operation/use of my car.
So in turn: * I went to them to align the wheels; * even if the car "was inspected" they did not tell me that it may have any problems - as a rule, even a trivial alignment would involve informing the customer to make the necessary decisions in investing the necessary repairs; * for aligning the front wheels - they warmed the adjustment parts, even if this was not necessary, as they were recently changed and were easy to handle - as a result a 'CV Joint Boot' was damaged - it is to my detriment that to change it (cost of the part, transportation, work for exchange); * the rear alignment was not done - the reason being that there are a lot of parts to change - this being untrue, because the cause of the alignment was the change of 'Arms' for the rear wheels; * we had a game at the rear wheel because we didn't fix the wheel well - so they weren't able to determine this, it just came to a wrong conclusion without being checked; * alignment, as a rule, involves not only the correct arrangement of the wheels but also the fixing of the steering wheel in the correct position, consequently - the position of the steering wheel has been deviated even more.
The only positive thing is that the car has become a little more stable, otherwise: steering wheel more deviated, half-alignment, money and time lost.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in on Nov 9, 2020 to have my winter tires put on. Shortly after I drop off the car, they tell me that I need new Calipers in the rear. And want to charge $1100. I told them to do nothing and said that I would call them back. I hung up and called the Ford dealership down the road. ( its a Ford). They told mem it would cost $900. I thought it was weird that Monsieur Muffler would be more expensive than a ford dealer and when I called back they could not tell me why there was such a big difference in the price. I told them not to touch it. I was going to get the tires changed at the dealership and they would check the brakes.
When I went to pick up the car, they put the winter tires on anyway. Although I didn't complain, I just wanted to get out before I exploded with anger.
I had my brakes inspected by the dealership and they said there is ABSOLUTLY nothing wrong with the calipers and there is no way a mechanic could have made an error and thought they were damaged.
MONSIEUR MUFFLER ST JACQUES MONTREAL lied to me and tried to get me to spend $1100 on something that was not needed.
Avoid this garage. They will do it again and again and again. I have complained to head office and IM waiting for a response. If I could give Zero Stars I would.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've brought my car in on many occasions and I always experienced honesty and integrity from mechanics. As someone who has been driving for over 25 years, I don't say this often. The staff here will explain all your options to you and without the BS. The prices are great and so is the service. I will definitely be returning for my mechanical needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there to check why my car is making noise,I thought maybe it’s the muffler,turns out he said it was the catalytic converter and quoted me a price over $1500.
I went to another garage and was quoted only $200.
He said the catalytic converter was ok,just needed the pipe going to it.
Needless to say I’ll never be going to Monsieur Muffler, they’re crooks and dishonest!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The work done was fine, but they charged almost 2 hours of labor for 30 minutes of work. Every place I called after, to compare prices, said that it was way over priced. Live and learn I guess, that's the last time i go there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Crooks! never go to this place. They rip you off. I went in to change the battery and they guy started telling me that I had to change the alternator and it would cost me over $1,000. I went elsewhere and the only thing that was wrong with my car was the battery. My alternator was perfect.
They see a woman and they think they can fool her. They're very dishonest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ PLEASE READ ---- If you are looking to get ripped off, get terrible customer service and talked down to/discriminated against -- then Mr Muffler St Jacques is the place for you!!! AVOID AT ALL COST -- as seen in many other reviews, they truly perpetuate the scumbag mechanic stereotype and try to overcharge you by taking advantage and hoping you lack basic common sense/any mechanical knowledge. At first I assumed I just dealt with one person who was having a bad day, but i quickly learned at a neighbouring garage (that i went to after being turned away regardless of my appointment because they didn't want to serve me when i didn't agree with getting ripped-off) about the racist history of the employees there and the terrible unprofessionalism as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in for winter tires and I got a great deal. The staff were awesome and very helpful. I requested that they check for other repairs that I need, and they were very honest and communicative. They told me what needed to be done and what could wait. I will definitely be a repeat customer. This is now my garage.
