Quiet campsite and day park with great views during the day and amazing star viewing at night. The only really issue is the wind, which picks up really fast and may blow your tent over (bring lots of heavy duty tent nails), and the beetles (rarely seen, often heard, and huge). Well, the beetles aren’t that bad if you don’t mind giant bugs. The bathrooms could be hosed down a bit more often, as there were many tiny flies in the sink and bugs decorating the walls.

Absolute gem in a very interesting area. Love the park layout amongst the ponderosa forest and the ease of access to the lake. Lots of family amenities. Whoever was running and working for BC parks in the 50s were geniuses. Definitely adding this to the list to visit again and explore more.

Beautiful campground close to Merritt. Sites are large enough for a trailer or two and tents. Open concept - but quiet enough you can’t hear your neighbours. Great trails around and lake access! Lake is quite windy.

Nice quiet campground. Not a lot of tree coverage so very hot in summer. Right next to a huge lake that allows motorboats. Very gravely/rocky beaches so water shoes are a must. Small kids playground and some flushing restrooms with sinks. No showers. Pay sani dump and free water.

Far too windy for tents or gazebos. The first time we were here a tree landed on our tent. The camp attendant gave us free firewood for the trouble. The second time the wind snapped our gazebo in half. You can't even sit around the picnic table to have dinner as your food will blow away. Aside from the wind it's a beautiful park. Lots of spots, spacious, not a lot of trees or shade. It was very dry and hot so a gazebo is a must but it won't stand up to the heavy wind. The hostess was very nice. The place was clean. The toilets are flushable. The main bathroom has a power outlet. No showers. The drinking water must be boiled. The lake is beautiful. It's clean and clear. The water flows so it's not stagnant. Its perfect for swimming. The beach is sandy and lined with tons of picnic tables. Most of them are covered picnic tables so you have shade. The grass area is huge. There is so much room. I've seen people set up badminton nets or have soccer games. Plenty of room for many families.

This was an amazing place for the family dogs and friends we shared a double site was more then enough room. All the facilities were kept in good order and having a Sani dump on site was a big bonus. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely think this was a place a lot of campers should try. The scenery was stunning as well. Water was great temperature for kids and adults as well no leeches, duck itch etc.
