I called the Ministry of Government & Consumer Services and was greeted by an incredibly unhelpful and rude customer services agent who continually interrupted me and transferred me to the General Inquiries line (which I informed him is where I had just been transferred from) when I was in the middle of a sentence. This was a terrible customer services experience all around. (1/5) Once I did some online digging and found the correct department to get in touch with, I reached out to the Official Document Services department directly who were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. They saved my experience with this department as a whole. (5/5)

I attend the Ministry of Government & Consumer Services multiple times per month. The service here is exceptional. Those who disagree and think the service is terrible are just miserable and incompetent. The staff here are short handed and deal with an immense amount of work regularly and they still manage to do an exceptional job. The staff will take their time to explain the forms to you, answer your question, and ultimately will help you until they’re blue in the face (TIP FOR THOSE WHO COMPLAIN: listen to the staff, they are experienced and they know what they are doing, it’s their job if you didn’t know), the only thing they can’t do is provide legal advice, so get a lawyer if you need too. Every time I come in I’m greeted with a smile and a hello, treated with respect, as are others who come in to this facility to file their business and corporate documents. To everyone at the Ministry, thank you for always doing your best, always being kind, and helpful. You’re all doing a fantastic job, keep up the great work and don’t worry about the people who give you a hard time!

filed a simple form 1 notice of change, attended the office in person, dropped off the paperwork organized in a folder and even watched staff pick it up and take it to the back. It has been 3 months I have heard back nothing. Staff is extremely unhelpful and rude.

I have always found staff to be very helpful and courteous. And believe me, I'm hard to please! I have been coming into this office about once or twice a year for over 10 years so I have interacted with a range of staff and a range of circumstances.

I have tried on numerous occasions to have answers to simple procedural questions from this Ministry. The one time I did actually access a live person that person hung up on me after telling me she was not there to provide me with information. I am not quite sure what she thought her job was as she was answering the inquiries line for the government. I have tried several times to simply have access to someone to tell me if I need an appointment to present documents or can just walk in. No one ever answers the phone. Why have a phone number if no one ever answers.

I wanted to complain about the quality of service received by a mechanic shop, but the reviews of this ministry is worse than the shop I wanted to complain about. It is infuriating!

Filed 3 formal complaints with MGCS against a collection agency. Each complaint required the assistance of the ombudsmen due to blatant obstruction of the complaint process in each case. Despite repeated and escalated contraventions of the Debt Settlement Services Act the MGCS will only issue warning letters to the offender. 3 strikes and nothing happens. The Debt Settlement Services Act is a suggestion, the MGCS refuses to impart any administrative penalty to a repeat offender that has ignored the MGCS's own warnings. The MGCS obstructions remain inexplicable.
