β β β β β My daughter's Mazda CX-9 has had catastrophic engine failure. We are still waiting for Mazda Canada to tell us what they are going to do about it but in the meantime the service from the complaints department has been very frustrating. We aren't getting called back when we are told we will be. They refuse to let us escalate the issue to management. And it has now been 2 weeks where my daughter, who is a single mom, is having to wait while they decide what to do. The service department told her to sell her 2014 vehicle to a junkyard for parts! Not acceptable!

β β β β β All in all, it's a decent car at this price point. It does not come without some serious safety risks outlined below.
There is just one major deal-breaker for me and here it goes: Why is it possible for anyone without the key fob to operate the built-in garage opener?
Anyone can break into my car and just open the garage whenever they wanted.
At any point, if anyone forgets to lock the car, then an intruder can also open the garage from the outside of my house using the cars built in garage opener while the cars ignition is off!!
This is a serious safety oversight, Mazda Vanada said that there is nothing they can do right now, conversation logged on December 10th 20201 09:15 PST, and I will be selling my Mazda now and buying a car that does not have this design flaw.
