MaxWell Capital Realty - Calgary

I will like to share the disappointing experience I had with Maxwell South Star Realty, particularly the move out inspection experience with Stepanenko Jelena (Elena), who I found to be extremely unprofessional, rude and condescending. During the move out inspection, she NEVER presented the move out inspection report to us, and just few moments after we left the apartment (about 5 minutes), we realized we were not given a copy of the move out inspection report. We were still downstairs and called her right away since we did not have access to the apartment any more. Her car was still parked at the parking lot. So we called, her phone rang out, we left her a voice message and also sent her a text message stating that it appeared she forgot to give us a copy of the move out inspection report, and that we were back for it and her response via text was "Will talk later". Unknown to us, she had tampered with the report, she exaggerated the facts, and included several items that were never discussed during the move out inspection which lasted for about 40 minutes. Several days after, I followed up on the receipt of the security deposit. Every effort to get a concrete feedback concerning our copy of the move out inspection report and when the security deposit would be refunded was abortive. Days after, she sent me a One-liner that the document was ready. I picked up the document at the Maxwell office and read the move out report for the first time. This was when I found that Elena had exaggerated the facts and to make matters worse, she stated that We the tenants REFUSED to sign the inspection report! The report that was NEVER presented to us in the first place. I was shocked and in disbelief that a supposed reputable organization like Maxwell which has Honesty and Transparency as part of its company values could be represented by an individual that just displayed a lack of integrity. I brought this up with her and the overall experience were very disappointing and bitter. Its sad that this representative who acts as the mediator between the Landlord and the Tenant failed to understand that the Tenant is also a Customer. The Tenant's rent makes a large portion of the agency's commission. Elena, I am sure the rents we paid were not "Disgusting"-to borrow your choice of words. I will not recommend this Realtor to anyone I know.

Brad Pond of MaxWell is a great realtor. As first-time home buyers we had tons of (silly) questions and Brad was always happy to succinctly explain all the intricacies involving home ownership. Not only is Brad really helpful, he's also efficient at narrowing down the options. He also has a great intuition about home values and how to negotiate. Don't let his calm demeanour fool you (which was super useful whenever we were feeling stressed) as he is a real team player and will go above and beyond to make his clients happy. And he's got a great sense of humour too! I highly recommend Brad for all your property buying/selling needs!!

I have now bought and sold two houses through MaxWell and I can’t say enough great things about their professionalism and devotion to me as a client. Their whole team was honest and hard working and I knew I had the right people in my corner. My brother also used MaxWell Southstar to buy a property and rent a property and he was well looked after too. Thanks Team! I can’t wait to work with you again!

Neglectful property managers. Was supposed to move into a MaxWell property a few months ago but could not due to serious health concerns. Previous tenants left the place filthy and with clear evidence of rodents. MaxWell did not have it professionally cleaned for us prior to move in (I spent an entire day bleaching it top to bottom). On move in day we arrived to find SEVERAL MICE running around. Absolutely disgusting.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I politely messaged Tracey Khan in regards to my damage deposit, and she was very short with me and also unprofessional. She said I haven't heard anything yet, and I'll let you know. I asked for an update, and again very short and told me 10 business days, which in fact is inaccurate, and given that she works in real estate and to patronize me with false information is insulting. Government of Alberta states ' 10 days within vacating the premises '. It has been 10 consecutive days and I'm getting swept under the rug over something that shouldn't be an issue. My simple questions were met with attitude. I've never done anything to Tracey and I was a good tenant, and left the property in excellent condition. Her customer service needs some work.

I would firstly like to thank Tracey Khan for all of the help and assistance she provided me while she was my property manager. She responded promptly when ever I messaged her with any concerns or issues. I got the damage deposit back within 9 days. Tracey also had to go out of her own way on her time to buy a filter for replacement before we vacated the property, which was over an hour of her time. She is extremely professional, kind and helpful and anyone who deals with her will agree. The tenants who lived above me, as well as the neighbor next door(who is not a client of Tracey's) also feel the same way about Tracey. She is one of a kind! Thanks again for all your help and if I ever need a property manager in the future I will be calling Tracey!

I appreciate all her patience with all my constant questions when buying and selling my properties. Tracey Khan helped me greatly in finding the best fitting tenants within a month and carry out the advertising, showing, screening, leasing, inspection and move-in process seamlessly. She has been of tremendous help and often went out of her way to offer valuable additional services and advice. I am thoroughly happy with the service.
