The Maternity Care Clinic has been providing care in Calgary for over 20 years. We offer the highest quality prenatal care for our patients and are are here to help you through ups and downs of this time in whatever way we can.
We are available to care for any low-risk patients who wish to deliver out of the Peter Lougheed Hospital. If possible, please have your doctor refer you to our clinic. If you do not have a family doctor, please call our clinic at 403-735-4922 to make a self referral.
At the Maternity Care Clinic, we are committed to supporting you throughout your pregnancy, delivery and postpartum period. We recognize that each woman will experience each pregnancy differently. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Drs and nurses were wonderful throughout my pregnancy and during the birth of our boy. It was really important to me to be given the opportunity to deliver naturally and during delivery the nurses not only respected my wishes, but helped me with coping mechanisms to get through the labor without drugs. My husband and I felt that we were in great hands during and after the birth, and my baby and I were very well taken care of by knowledgeable nurses and doctors at Peter Laugheed while we recovered. Would return if we ever have another child

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went here for my prenatal appointments after 20 weeks gestation. I left to go to the Sunridge maternity care clinic after I was extremely disappointed in the service over here. I went for 4 appointments and met with 3 different doctors. And any of my requisitions were actually ordered by another doctor whom I had never met. They had the resident come in first take the concerns down then go out of the room and tell the doctor. I only saw each doctor for about 2-3 minutes and they seemed rushed. I think the resident and doctor should come to the room at the same time, having the resident take the information to the doctor can cause a miscommunication or things can get lost in translation.
I also felt that my concerns were not taken seriously by dr luu who is a locuum. A locuum is pretty much a rent a doctor that is hired because they need more doctors at the facility, most likely because of covid. I still felt that she didn’t care about my pains and medical problems and told me it’s part of pregnancy. She did not display any empathy or bedside manner. I decided to go to Sunridge after this incident. I feel the doctors there are much more empathetic and helpful and just overall nice. I do not recommend this clinic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All of the clinic doctors and staff are very nice, however the wait time is unnacceptable. You're asked to show up early for your appointment, and they end up making you wait over an hour for the doctor to see you. They have no respect for your time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The doctor and nurse are nice. But the waiting time is way too long. Even thought I always come 10-15mins before my appointment,I still have to wait for at least an hour! Sometimes I thought they might just forget their patients. When the doctor came in they only talk to you for 5-10minutes. Really dont know why I have to wait for that long.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wait times were extremely long and unacceptable. Every appointment they were late by at least 35-50min up to just over 1hr! and the doctor would see you for less than 5 minutes which I felt was very rushed.
I had a different clinic in the south with my first child and appointments were always on time and I never felt rushed and due to us moving I attended this clinic with my second and it was the opposite experience. I would not recommend this clinic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a small clinic but friendly front desk clerk, nurses and Dr’s. I came to this clinic while I was pregnant for both my kids. I can understand sometime wait time can be longer than your expected appointment time but it’s understandable since remember not all clinics or hospitals are on time when it comes to appointments. If you want to deliver at PLC (Peter Lougheed Centre) this is the clinic you want to be referred to if you want to deliver your baby besides not being high risk.
