About Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre

Pregnancy decision-making

It’s hard to face a pregnancy when you feel like you are on your own

The Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre is a non-profit charity offering pregnancy and family support for those in challenging situations. We have been caring for women, youth, and families since 1985. We are here to answer questions, present options, and provide support through the decision-making process and beyond. Whatever journey you choose, we will be there to walk with you. Whatever option you choose: abortion, adoption, or parenting, we want the Centre to be a comfortable and safe place to be.

What our clients like about our services:

“The help accessing food and prenatal classes was especially awesome but I also appreciated that I wasn’t made to feel less capable and confident because I was asking for help.”  “Someone listened objectively. I like that all of the options were laid out. I feel more confident in my decision.”  “The supportive and respectful approach of the staff. The willingness to spend time and answer all of my questions.”

I am so glad pregnancy care center exists in Calgary to help women of all walks of life cope with pregnancy and birth. They offer everything...counselling, support, classes such as lamaze, taking care of newborns to financial mangement courses. Also, they have a great clothing program for children under 2 years old to help low income families cope with monthly clothing demands of growing babies. Daddies to be also gain support with male counselors in dealing with their new roles. Staff are always available and helpful. The Director is an amazing woman, non judgemental and kind. It is truly an amazing place. Highly recommended to all who are dealing with unexpected or difficult pregnancies or just are seeking extra support.

I made the very difficult but brave call to the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre 17 years ago when I was facing an unplanned crisis pregnancy. The love and support I received (and still receive 17 years later) surrounding my choice to place for open adoption was necessary to get me through facing the pain of the loss of my son. I joined the Birth Mom's support group during my pregnancy, which I still attend to this day, where a life long bond developed with other beautiful strong women who have gone through the same thing as I did. We can candidly share our heart felt pains and gains of our adoptions and cry, grieve and support each other with total love and understanding. Without the CPCC, I really don't know how my life would have played out if I had not received the unconditional love that I did, even though I felt I didn't deserve it. As hard as it was for me to reach out and ask for help at the time, I had to put my pride aside and just pick up the phone and dial because there are some things in life you can't go through alone!

Be aware: This is NOT a clinic it is a fundamentalist Christian front. They will under no circumstances provide a referral for an abortion - but they will pretend they will and try to string along vulnerable women with 'just one more test' until it's too late. If they were honest about what they are I wouldn't object but their whole mission is deception.

I was working as a volunteer for CPCC when I found out that my own 15-year old daughter was pregnant. We instantly became clients, and both my daughter and I received individual counselling and support from the moment we expressed a need. They stayed involved with us throughout the entire experience, and we are both still friends with our counselors, and she delivered her son almost nine years ago. They offer practical help (like maternity and infant clothes) and emotional support (helping everyone cope with the upcoming changes). Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre is an organization that I strongly believe in, and would heartily endorse their programs.

People who have rated this place poorly, have clearly not been here and wrote reviews based on their on biases. PCC is here to help and they are willing to listen. They provide great care for women before and after baby is born. In the end, those touting this place has an agenda is also pushing their own agenda and their views need to be taken with a grain of salt as they have not been clients here.

A friend suggested the clinic when I came to Calgary and the support I received has been incredible. There's free ongoing classes: prenatal, baby's first year and financial literacy, a baby rhyme time group, a wide variety of free maternity and baby clothing to choose from, a supportive counsellor who attended my birth and has become a close friend, referrals for the food bank and fair entry, and ongoing resources from friendly people that - could help any new family to Calgary. The Pregnancy care center has been one of the most useful resources I've came across and I can't thank them enough!

Do not be fooled into thinking you will receive a professional, educated, and unbiased opinion at this fake clinic. Places like this are run by religious cultists who only have their own interests in mind. As such, they intentionally provide inaccurate and incomplete information regarding contraception, abortion, and pregnancy options. Your health and your time has value. Do not give these people a benefit of a doubt. Seek help elsewhere.
