The Mary Brown’s Story
It was 1969. While the world watched the first man walk on the moon, we celebrated the first Guest walking through our doors in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. Needless to say, it was a giant leap for chicken. Word quickly spread and stores opened across the province. It soon became the chicken of choice. Iconic even. It was time to, pardon the pun, spread our wings.
By 1972, the secret of Mary Brown’s tantalizing chicken was out. Two stores opened in Ontario that year in Oshawa and Mississauga. From there, growth expanded west to Alberta, back east to the Maritimes, out to the Prairies and more recently, all the way to British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
Today there are almost 200 Mary Brown’s locations across Canada, and that number keeps climbing rapidly – coast-to-coast, in small towns and big cities – as more and more Canadians fall in love with our delicious food! Sit tight, we’ll be in your neighbourhood soon!

I would give them 5 more stars if I could do that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a tad shocking but Mary brown's knows how to make a great poutine! The first time I had it it felt like squeaky cheese (the right kind of cheese). The curd portion is great, the gravy is flavourful, good consistancy (not too watery nor gelatin), the right colour and not overly salty. The cheese melts and strings well onto the fries and the fries are a good thing but potato filled style which works perfectly for a greasy but delicious poutine for about $9 (large). Spicy chicken sandwich is also a good go to as a meal where the chicken to bread ratio is right and the juiciness of the chicken shines through with its coating. It does get messy with the sauces though. Please note that their "taters" are actually potato wedges. The service here is quick and friendly - no long waiting period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the worst Mary browns location I have expirenced. The drive through worker today around 1:00PM had so little care when taking my order he couldn't tell me more than 2 dipping sauces. When I questioned further he only told me ranch? The dipping sauces that were paid for were then missing from the order. It's not the first time I've had this level of bad service from this location, they should focus on customer service and product knowledge.
