About Bath Fitter

“Thirty years ago, we were only about 10 people. Today, we’re thousands. That’s a big gap, but one thing that never changed is the passion...And when people purchase a Bath Fitter product, they buy more than just a piece of acrylic, they buy something made with the hearts of everyone involved in the process.”

- Steven Trottier, Bath Fitter employee since 1989

There's a motto we live by at Bath Fitter: don't be right, get it right. It embodies the spirit of continual improvement, helping ourselves and the world become a better place every day by recognizing problems and finding solutions.

That spirit comes from the top, Bath Fitter founders and brothers Brian, Wayne and Glenn Cotton. They took a simple idea - that there should be an easier and more reliable way to remodel your bathroom than the demolition they were stuck with in the 80's - invested lots of hard work and turned it into a thriving international company. First, they saw that commercial properties, like hotels, were running into big problems renovating their old bathrooms. Demolition cost the businesses so much time and money and contractors could be fickle. Bath Fitter provided the solution, letting commercial spaces give their patrons the luxurious tubs and showers hotels are famous for, and get back to business sooner.

But the Cotton brothers believe home owners deserve the same sparkling baths as 5-star hotels, without the extensive and extended demolition that can seriously inconvenience home life. So they quickly expanded their offerings for residential homes. For more than 35 years, Bath Fitter has worked to perfect that process to bring everyone a better bath that takes into account real people's needs. That's why Bath Fitter tubs and showers are made of high-gloss acrylic that wipes clean easily, and they are installed in one day for ultimate convenience. We still work every single day to be better and to continually improve our products and our customers' lives.

That's the Bath Fitter promise — the spirit of continual improvement guides us as we look forward to a long future of serving our communities and getting it right.

We had our bathtub and shower remodelled with Bathfitter! Albert Malinis was punctual, professional, courteous and his work is nothing but flawless. He kindly informed us about the care instructions after he installed the bathtub and shower in the time he promised. We are super pleased with our new bathtub and shower! Wonderful service!

Recently used Bath Fitter to redo a tub & surround that was dated (30yrs) from an older house we bought. The tiles were becoming worn and it just needed an upgrade. Instead of opting for the full demo and retile option we went this route and are 100% satisfied. We booked in May and the Job was completed later in July. Glen (Sales) did a great job working with us on design/selection and they followed it up with a great installer (Albert). Albert was on time, professional and worked throughout the day to get the job completed. Couldn't ask for better customer service on the install. Some people have said it's a pricey option but these guys do it all with the custom install from plumbing to tub & surround replacement. The warranty and the quick turnaround in the end make the few extra $$$ well worth it. Would highly recommend!

Would like to leave nothing but good vibes to Mandy who helped me select and design my new wall and tub liners; was a seamless and pain free sales experience. Also, a shoutout to Albert who did a top notch pipe job and installation in one day! I wish I took a photo of his awesome routing to replace my old leaky shut off valves and copper pipes to accommodate a new shower valve (they replaced my old style faucet where the spout and valve were one unit vs. current ones that are separate). Bath Fitter was prompt, didn’t try to upsell me on things I didn’t want/need, clear on what will happen from manufacturing my custom pieces, to how install day will happen. Amanda kept me posted on anything that needed scheduling. Loved the transparency they provided as a business. They’re professional, and fair priced.

Albert did such a great job on our downstairs bathroom renovation! He was there all by himself and still finished very quickly and was very professional. I am amazed at his work, and will definitely use him again!

Bathroom renovation. In 2017 I renovated my main and ensuite bathrooms. The ensuite started leaking in less than 2 years. I procrastinated trying to decide what to do. The contractor (Paul Duguay) of Duguay Construction over charged for the work and kept the extra tile and tried to charge me for it. His plumber should have retired a decade ago. He made comments like, "That's not right." He hooked up the shower plumbing backwards. When you turn the handle it should go from cold to hot not hot to cold. The tile guy was amateurish at best bordering on incompetent. He never used a level, most likely used the wrong grout which is the cause for the leak. Wall and floor tiles should be level. When I run my hand from one tile to the next I feel a bump. The shower bench and shower curb should not be level. They should have a slight slope so water can drain. This didn't happen. Water just sits on these surfaces and I have to squeegee them to remove the water. All the home renovation shows talk about tiles being level. I'm kicking myself for not firing the contractor and finding someone else to finish. Mr. Duguay measured wrong when it came time to install the glass door on the shower. As a result he had to cut 2 holes (top and bottom) on the other side of the bathroom wall. This meant patching the dry wall, endless sanding and finally painting. I had dry wall dust every where. When I pointed out something was not level he replied, "It is level with his level, mine must be broken." When I received my invoice I deducted the cost of the extra tile he took and told him he was not getting another penny. Needless to say Duguay Construction and I parted on unfriendly terms. It pains me to have pay for two renovations. I decided to proceed and hired Bath Fitter to install the new ensuite shower. Albert the tech (15 years with Bath Fitter) was nothing less than amazing. The attention to detail was remarkable. A company owner even came out to check on the job - impressive. The work was done in a day and a half. I have a life time warranty on the shower. I don't have to worry about tiles cracking, leaking and re-grouting. Some time next year I will have Bath Fitter do my main bathroom. If you are wanting to do a bathroom renovation consider Bath Fitter and AVOID AT ALL COSTS DUGUAY CONSTRUCTION. Photo on left is the poor work done by Duguay Construction. I just had to say how happy I am with my new shower! Everything that the commercials say is true! My meeting with Mandy was easy, like talking to a friend, no pressure. And then my installer…Jason. The first day he was here just before 8 am and began work right away, carrying all his gear up the 13 steps into my house! He returned the second day, again at 8 - who does that, coming when they say they will! And when he left, just like the commercial says, I had a beautiful new shower! And no trace that he had been here. Thank you, I’m so glad I chose Bath Fitter!

Albert arrived on time as he previously said, he immediately laid down protection to protect our floors and rugs. He closed the bathroom door so we did not get dust everywhere. He explained the process to us and kept us informed how the project was going. We never saw him take a break the whole time he was here. I offered him something to drink he said no thank you. On the second day he asked me where I wanted the seat for comfort and the tray for shampoo and other items. He cleaned everything when the job was done and our floors. We were so impressed with his work ethic and really thanked him for a job well done.

Late November 2021 I had Bath Fitter renovate my ensuite shower. The previous renovation done in 2017 by Duguay Construction was so poor the shower leaked in less than 2 years. The shower needed to be fixed. Bath Fitter did such a stellar job that I had them back a couple of days ago to renovate my main bathroom. The same tech (Albert) did the install. Again he was nothing short of remarkable. I very highly recommend Bath Fitter.
