Went there yesterday for customer appreciation day with my daughter and we enjoyed a complimentary lunch provided by Hilti. Sam and Pete have great customer service and go above and beyond for their customers. I'm a proud owner of Hilti products because of their efforts to keep customers happy! Thanks Sam and Pete!

We bought a laser, and we were overcharged ; after checking with the bank, we went to tell them; and the answer was we cannot do anything, because the cashier "seller" who made the mistake is on vacation; and also he is new so he doesn’t know how to do a visa transaction. We ask for the manager or a supervisor and the answer was “we don't have a manager or supervisor”. We wait for more than an hour and nothing happened; after a long wait the seller, told us to return in a week. Which kind of customer service is that?? It’s obvious why the employees don’t know how to do their job properly, if they don’t have anyone in charge for a good customer service, and definitely it’s not the customer problem or fault, if they don’t receive properly training.

I’m not usually one to complain but I genuinely don’t recommend going to the Hilti store or supporting Hilti here in Calgary. Hilti as a company likes to make lots of bold promises about being your partner in construction productivity. They make claims of tool uptime and fast service, last time I had a Hilti tools fail it took weeks for it to be repaired when I received it back it was still broken and had to go out for service again. It seems like they carry almost no stock, maybe 1/4 of the time I go in their they actually have what I need. The wait times are usually long, the service is always very lacklustre and they seem lack the knowledge of their own products. While Hilti makes lots of really interesting innovative products, in my experience oversell and under deliver. For example the BX-3ME which works maybe 30% of the time when you’re using it on over head concrete slab. Or my most recent example is the $28 1/4” hammer drill bit which broke on first hole and they refused to warrantee it. The brazing that held the carbide in place simply failed, I didn’t hit rebar or anything particularly hard because I finished the whole with a cheap Bosch bit. I kept brushing these problems off as one time occurrences but it’s just problem after problem. You pay a substantial premium for their products and service and at least in my experience have consistently failed to deliver. Perhaps in a Europe or in one of the larger North American urban centres like NYC it might work well. Maybe if your some massive union company with 650 guys and you are fleeting tools or work in an industry where you have little competition. I’ll be taking my companies business elsewhere. I honestly tried pretty hard to like Hilti. Thankfully they have lots of competition where I will happily our business from now on. If you run a small - medium sized contracting business I recommend you do the same.
