Great low key walk with little ones to observe nature. The walkways are marked with informative plaques about local fauna. Bring your magnifying glass to observe the minnows or your binoculars to bird watch.

Probably our favourite spot to come when we’re in Banff. The loop is easy for all and the views are gorgeous. We love hearing the water trickle down the mountain all the way to the lake. The water is so warm, it never freezes. There are lookouts for birds and spots to see the small fish that call the marsh home. Peaceful spot just to relax. Check it out next time you’re in Banff. It’s just below the Cave and Basin.

Great place and great history. The hiking trail is very short but really worth doing it. As you walk along the boardwalk, you feel peaceful. You can smell the trees, see streams, and the marsh full of tiny fish. The cave is amazing. A must see if you're in the area

Really enjoyable casual trail that has great views of the river as well as a lake and the swamp. Well maintained and no elevation. Can get muddy in areas.

It's a lovely, easy walk, although the forested areas made for some slippery, then muddy, pathways. A nice stroll if you're looking for a more casual view of the Rockies.

A nice walk to the fish and bird viewing areas. Wooden boardwalks let you get close to the tropical fish! The sulphur hot springs keep the water ice-free year round.

We didn't find garter snakes this time but there were plenty of fish at vermillion! The museum of war prisoners was illustrative yet heartbreaking.

A nice short little hike to stretch your legs in Banff. I've never seen a hot springs marsh and just loved the moss growing under the frost. We were told we would see lots of birds, but we saw/heard none. You could see all the minnows swimming in the flowing warm waters though! Very neat!
