β β β β β Lumβs is a gem in Esquimalt for great Chinese food. We often get takeout and itβs always ready on time or very close to. If we have to wait a moment, it means itβs even fresher! We have dined in, in the past for birthdays and casual after work dinners. The restaurant is clean and bright. The service is great and the food is always delicious. We absolutely love their house special egg foo yong.

β β β β β I ordered Chicken Chowmein and Sweet and Sour Pork. Both were ready very quickly as they were having a slow night and were normal sized portions. The chow mein only had about 3 small pieces of chicken and was quite heavily doused in soy sauce but the noodles were good quality and well cooked. The Sweet and Sour Pork was all pork, no vegetables, which was a surprise but not unwelcomed and was quite tasty. My only issue was later that evening I suffered a pretty devastating bowel movement and felt quite painfully sick. This was the only food or drink (other than filtered water) I had consumed for many hours and would have been the only cause of my upset stomach. It was a shame as this could have been my go to Chinese food place in Victoria but I'm not a fan of restaurants that give me food poisoning.

Flavour ?!?! 0 star... Mixing premade store-bought sauces in a random way that clash...
Authenticity 0, there is nothing authentic, or chinese about this.
If you're looking for a cheap priced meal, it is ok, but a cheap price comes with cheap quality ingredients, paired with poor flavour profiles.

β β β β β The sweet and sour pork was hard as rock. The chicken was way more breading than actual chicken. The noodles were meh, but not bad.
The food could definitely be better, but it could just be that one time. I will come back to give it another chance when Iβm in town but for now... 3 stars.

β β β β β Went for the first time as soon as I moved into the area a few months ago and now I can't count how many times we've ordered takeout. We've shared with many friends who now also enjoy Lum's Chinese food as much as we do.

β β β β β Delicious food. I have been having a hard time finding good quality Chinese dishes. They were kind on the phone when I called thinking I had an issue and cleared it up for me. I recommend this restaurant.

β β β β β We have been ordering from here for over 5 years. It is consistently good and the wait times for pick up are also spot on, which is nice as they are always busy. Recommend the curry beef and crispy ginger beef. Fantastic food and very fair prices.

β β β β β My wife and I read over some reviews before going to Lums. The reviews were not wrong... amazing food quality, tasty, hot, fairly quick (had to wait a bit as they had many orders), and plenty of food!
We ordered 2 dinner for ones, and substituted a pork to chicken, which was yummy! We couldn't finish off the portion size! We got to enjoy it again for lunch the next day.
I highly suggest checking out Lums! I gave it 5 stars because they deserved it! Well definitely eat there again.
