Long & McQuade Musical Instruments - Calgary

The customer service here has always been phenomenal. My son takes drum lessons here as well, and his instructor Conor is one of the best teachers he's ever had for anything, let alone drums! They've easily made life-long customers of my family.

I just want to say that Meishka in the drum section went absolutely above and beyond to track down a part for a discontinued piece of drum equipment. I’m so beyond happy that after all the looking I did myself someone was able to get one for me after I thought it was a lost cause. Thanks buddy. 10/10. Love this store and it’s knowledgeable and helpful staff.

I observed the stuff are v helpful to customers. I particularly worked with Dean, Tim, and Jon. They were very patient with me and answered all my questions. Also went above and beyond to accommodate me and find a guitar that works for me. Highly recommend!

My friend and I came in to this location so she could look for a new guitar. When we entered the guitar room there was a staff member hanging some guitars on the wall, but no other customers. He didn’t acknowledge us in any way and left the room. We spent about 20 minutes alone trying out a few instruments before leaving the store. On our way past the front desk, where there were a handful of staffers chatting with each other, my friend stopped and said, “Thank you for letting us look at the guitars.” “Yeah, sure, no problem.” was the reply. My friend has since found a different (locally owned) store at which to spend her money.

Friendly staff. They have a wide variety of musical instruments available. I could stay there for hours. Clean and neat. A must visit for musicians :)

We have been going to this Long & McQuade for nearly a decade now. Over that time the staff in all departments have consistently been helpful and welcoming. You can tell that they truly love music too! Sometimes the store is very busy and there can be a wait but it's always worth it. They will run all over the store for you to make sure you can see and try all the best options and they never up sell either.

Long & McQuade… Hmmm… What can I say about Canada’s biggest music retailer. Are they the evil empire, we’re horrible evil entity rules over his minions whipping off customers with glee? And no in a word no. I believe Canada‘s biggest music retailer got that way because they offer exemplary customer service, they treat their employees well so they are happy in their jobs and they don’t work on commission, and they do the business in an upright fashion with transparency and honesty. I can’t really say much bad about them except they didn’t hire me when I was looking for a job there. But they have a great selection, and you can be assured that the prices are very competitive, and I wouldn’t hesitate to send say some young mother there to buy an instrument for her son or daughter and worried that she was going to get taken advantage of by a shady salesman. And the gear they get there is great. Search luminaries as Rush, have shopped at Long and McQuade their whole lives. I have a friend that used to work there, once when I came into a big pile of money you spent every guitar players fantasy afternoon shooting I’ll Gibson Les Paul‘s until I chose the greatest one in the store and bought it and walked out the door 6000 bucks lighter in the wallet but happy. He checked into how much money I’ve spent in that store or chain throughout my life and I think I was tipping the scales at about 50,000 bucks whatever it was it was way more than I thought! One more thing as an added bonus to a working musician, long and McQuade has rental rates especially on PA gear that are ridiculously low I’ve never seen cheaper PA rates ever anywhere and that’s a big bonus. Go there if you need an instrument be happy to get what you buy because you’re so you something good
