About Rocky Mountain Wine Spirits Beer
In 2017 our bricks and mortar store was born. In 2018 we were honoured to win the Irv Kipness Award for Excellence in Retailing. Fast forward to 2020 and we expanded virtually, allowing customers to purchase our impressive selection of wine, spirits and beer online as well as in-store.
We focus on providing excellent customer service and a fantastic selection. We love locally made products and try to stock as many Calgary-made beers, ciders, coolers and spirits as possible. Nothing is put on the shelf unless it passes a taste test. We stand behind our products. If your newly purchased bottle wasn’t a hit (like there’s really something wrong with it) then don’t be shy. Bring it back at least ¾ full and we’ll get something else for you to try.
You might have noticed that our name is strikingly similar to the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival? Yup, that’s no coincidence. Our owner, Michael MacDougall, started the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival way back in 1998 and grew it to be the biggest wine, food, spirits and beer event in Calgary and Edmonton. Our company also runs Winefest in both cities. It was always a dream of Michael’s to own a liquor store – and let’s be honest, we’ve all spent way too much time taste-testing products not to share all the knowledge with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very flawed operation. Three times I tried to buy a bottle of whiskey and still refused to sell it to me. Twice asking me to come again later the third time I go online and have it in my cart to check out won't let me but makes me sign up for an account then system, says problem so refresh and it's gone and suddenly sold out.

The only reason I am giving four stars is because I felt that beyond the wine there was a smaller selection as far as regular liquor and we just googled closest liquor stores!!

Go in and ask a question about beer, they've got a beer guy who's got you. Follow up with a wine question? Get passed off to the wine lady who's got the perfect recommendation for your palate.
All the staff have their own area of expertise and are happy to chat all things boozy.
Definitely a fun experience, but be prepared to leave with far more delicious beverages than you intended! Not that you'll be complaining. ?
